Role Description We are seeking an experienced German-speaking IT Consultant to support our client in a migration from IBM WebSphere to JBoss. The role will start with an initial 1-2 day meeting in Hamburg to discuss the project scope, followed by fully remote work for the remainder of the 6-month contract. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled consultant to contribute to a critical migration project within a dynamic IT environment. - Lead and execute the migration of applications from IBM WebSphere to JBoss. - Assess existing WebSphere infrastructure, define migration strategy, and ensure a seamless transition to JBoss. - Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical recommendations. - Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the migration process. - Document processes, provide training if necessary, and ensure system stability post-migration. Qualifications - Fluent German and English skills (spoken and written) are a must. - Strong experience in migrating applications from IBM WebSphere to JBoss. - Proficiency in Linux-based environments, including shell scripting and system administration. - Solid understanding of Java EE applications and their deployment on both WebSphere and JBoss. - Experience with cloud-based solutions and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus. - Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
