Support social media strategy by creating engaging content, managing campaigns, and driving audience engagement. Track performance metrics to optimize strategies and collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and initiatives.
Role Description We're looking for a sharp, self-directed marketer to own the channels that carry Walnut's voice: LinkedIn, social, our blog, and outbound campaigns to partners and customers. This is a casual, contract role with real ownership and a flexible schedule. You bring the playbook; we'll get out of your way. - Social & LinkedIn: Take us from “we post sometimes” to a point of view people follow. Own the calendar, the voice, and the cadence. - Content & blog: Turn what we know about embedded insurance into content that fintech, bank, and telco leaders actually want to read. - Outbound campaigns: Build and run campaigns that land with the right audiences — sequencing, copy, targeting, and measurement. - Partner & customer engagement: Drive real two-way engagement across channels — conversations and follow-through, not just broadcasts. - The strategy itself: We want your instincts and your judgment, not our instructions repeated back to us. Qualifications - A marketer who leads in this space — ahead of where we are, not waiting to be briefed. - A proven track record on B2B social, content, and outbound — and the portfolio to prove it (required). - Strong instincts for voice and storytelling — you make complex topics land simply. - End-to-end ownership — comfortable running execution yourself on a flexible schedule. - Curiosity — wants to learn the latest tools, curious about how to iterate and drive conversion. - Based anywhere in Canada. Nice to Have - Fintech, financial services, insurance, or B2B SaaS experience. - Marketing automation / CDP fluency (HubSpot, Customer.io, Iterable, Braze). - Technical background, being able to understand SQL, use of APIs. - An existing audience or network in Canadian fintech or financial services. How to Apply Send your portfolio, your social media profiles, your LinkedIn experience, or a few examples you're proud of — work that speaks for itself says more than a cover letter ever will. Append this to your resume and profile showcasing your experience. If you are talented, even if you don’t have traditional experience - please apply. This is an evolving space and students, new to the industry, and non-traditional talent is more than welcome! Rate based on experience and scope. We're open to weekly hours that fit the right person.
