Role Description The Ambulatory Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for providing patient care and advanced clinical pharmacy services in the ambulatory pharmacy space, including: - Referral based HOPD pharmacist managed clinics - Specialty pharmacy - Population health pharmacy services This role involves: - Collaborating with prescribers in the ambulatory setting - Providing direct patient care managing medication therapy - Ensuring effective communication with prescribers regarding identified medication related problems and potential solutions - Documenting patient interactions across various electronic medical record (EMR) platforms Qualifications - Current state Registered Pharmacist License - B.S. in Pharmacy or PharmD degree required - PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency required (significant experience may be considered in lieu of residency) - Board certification (BCPS, BCACP, or equivalent) within 18 months of hire required - Strong verbal and written communication skills required - Strong customer service skills required - PGY-2 residency in ambulatory care or a related specialty preferred - Expertise in 340B program operations and compliance preferred - Proficiency in EPIC or similar EMR systems preferred - Advanced clinical knowledge in specialty areas such as diabetes, cardiology, pulmonology, rheumatology, or oncology preferred - Experience as a pharmacy residency preceptor in ambulatory pharmacy services preferred Requirements - Full Time Days (Remote) - Location: Olympia Fields, IL 60461 Benefits - Competitive compensation - Comprehensive benefits package - Paid time off - 401K retirement plan - Medical, dental, and vision coverage - Tuition reimbursement - Voluntary benefit options - Estimated compensation: $117k to $158k annually Company Description The company is dedicated to empowering its staff with a comprehensive, competitive benefits package, allowing them the freedom to customize their benefits to fit their unique needs. Coordinates and arranges for all outpatient radiology orders to ensure patients have received financial clearance from insurance companies and troubleshoot as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS BASIC KNOWLEDGE - High school diploma or equivalent required. - Knowledge of business systems, office procedures, computer skills, medical terminology, and health insurance processes/terminology including, but not limited to, CPT and ICD-10 coding. - Strong organizational skills, critical thinking, and focus to detail required to manage high volume of radiologic orders requiring prior authorization and/or financial clearance. - Analytical skills to evaluate effectiveness of work flow with the ability to make recommendations, develop, and adapt to changes as necessary. - Interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective communication with patients and other healthcare professionals within and outside of Brown University Health. EXPERIENCE - Two years of previous experience in health care environment with emphasis in health insurance billing and reimbursement, healthcare operations, database management, and patient/provider interaction. WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Normal office environment; may experience some visual fatigue as a result of extended periods of work on the computer. INDEPENDENT ACTION - Performs independently within the department’s policies and practices.
