Role Description We are looking for a Chief of Staff to work closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO). In this role, you will help the engineering team stay organized, grow their people, and improve how they work together. This is an individual contributor (IC) role, meaning you will not directly manage a team. However, you will have strong influence across the organization by supporting leaders, driving key projects, and helping teams stay aligned and productive. - Support the CTO in planning and running team activities such as meetings, all-hands, and offsite events - Help create and improve career paths, performance reviews, and growth plans for engineers - Work with managers to monitor team health, including engagement, retention, and development - Build and improve onboarding plans for new hires - Partner with Recruiting to support hiring efforts, including job design and interview processes - Help plan hiring needs based on business goals and team priorities - Track open roles, candidate pipelines, and hiring progress - Keep track of key decisions and make sure action items are completed - Lead special projects such as team changes, new processes, or organizational improvements - Help document and share engineering standards and best practices - Coordinate work across teams to remove blockers and improve collaboration Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in a strategy, operations, or leadership support role - Experience working in a large or fast-paced organization is preferred - Strong understanding of people processes such as hiring, performance reviews, and career development - Excellent written communication skills (clear and easy-to-follow documents and summaries) - Strong relationship-building skills; able to handle sensitive topics with care and professionalism - Able to create structure and improve processes without making them overly complex - Nice to Have: - Experience working with engineering or technology teams - Background in engineering or engineering management - Familiarity with compensation programs or salary structures Requirements - If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
