• Build and maintain backend services that power risk detection, fraud prevention, and financial risk mitigation across Coinbase's platform — operating at the scale, speed, and 24x7 nature of crypto markets. • Own feature delivery end-to-end — from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring — for risk platform capabilities that directly protect users and the business from financial threats. • Partner with Data Science, ML, and Risk Analysts teams to develop both proactive systems (models, user-facing risk features) and reactive solutions (one-off risk mitigations, incident response tooling) that reduce fraud and financial loss. • Drive reliability and observability in risk platform services by implementing mechanisms to identify regressions, ensure prompt visibility of issues, and contribute to incident response and post-mortems. • Contribute to the team's engineering culture by leaving code cleaner than you found it, maintaining high code velocity, participating in code reviews, and building reusable solutions that can be leveraged across the team.

• Design and build highly scalable systems that support millions of transactions across multiple countries and regulatory environments • Develop operational tooling that enables efficient international marketplace operations • Partner with internal logistics, payments, and platform teams to build durable long-term infrastructure • Example projects include building VAT tooling and seller-facing tax infrastructure for EU and UK markets • Designing cross-border shipping and Delivered Duty Paid (DDP) experiences that enable international commerce • Building systems to support market-specific requirements including Right of Withdrawal, refund automation, and regulatory compliance

• Write production code for critical and complex system components, setting the standard for quality and maintainability. • Architect, implement, and improve high-performing, modular software systems using SQL, .NET, and Angular, with a focus on scalability and fault tolerance. • Lead complex system designs and influence architecture decisions across teams, ensuring integration with enterprise-wide systems. • Build prototypes and proof-of-concepts to validate new technologies and approaches before broader adoption. • Evolve large existing systems, driving modernization from monolith to modular without disrupting production delivery. • Provide technical guidance that helps teams plan and execute complex work effectively. • Ensure critical paths are observable and measurable through hands-on implementation of monitoring and performance tooling.
