• Own the architecture and development of scalable backend services powering the next generation of crypto products — including risk platform, notifications platform, and dynamic presentation systems. • Build and scale user-facing experiences across the full Coinbase product journey — from SEO and logged-out discovery through onboarding, trading, and investing — touching web, mobile, backend, data, and ML. • Drive technical quality and performance across complex systems at scale — defining the right metrics and SLOs, and holding the bar on reliability and latency for real-time applications. • Lead horizontal technical direction across multiple engineering teams — collaborating with leaders across the company to influence architecture decisions and unblock high-impact initiatives. • Shape scalable, reusable solutions that can be leveraged across Coinbase — building the growth engine infrastructure that enables the team to iterate faster and compound results.

**You will be responsible for:** - Financial transparency for partners — evolve the systems behind reconciliation, invoicing, transaction history, and payin/payout flows that salon owners rely on daily - Internal tooling — iterate and improve the tooling that empowers our ops, support, and data compliance teams to move fast without creating risk - Platform reliability — own your services end-to-end, from architecture through deployment, with a DevOps mindset baked in - Experimentation — contribute to a culture that validates ideas with data before committing to them at scale

• Design and build backend services for card transaction processing, fraud detection, and/or card program management • Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making with a focus on performance, fault tolerance, and maintainability • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Risk, Finance, Compliance) to deliver robust, compliant financial systems • Write clean, observable, and well-tested code in a service-oriented architecture • Participate in code reviews, incident response, and ongoing reliability improvements • Help evolve our engineering practices, tools, and system designs as we scale
