Hourly Rate: $35-$60 3 month contract possibility to extend 10 hours weekly minimum We are actively seeking a Visual Designer with 3+ years experience, preferably in an agency setting. Visual Designers are talented, driven people with a passion for making gorgeous, ground-breaking work. You are ready for hands-on projects at every stage of the lifecycle, from brainstorming creative concepts with the project team and developing original campaigns, to participating in client presentations and ensuring deadlines are met, all the way to launch. You find great pride in mentoring and supporting the success of your team. You're typically focused on 1-2 large projects at a time, and capable of managing multiple smaller projects as well. Responsibilities: Team - Participate in check-ins and keep track of day-to-day creative progress - Champion clarity between the design and development team - Meet deadlines & stay on target Client Facing - Presentation of concepts, design directions, and thought process in client meetings - Lead and participate in client workshops to ideate, present work and gather feedback - Presentable, inspiring and professional communication - Active listening and understanding of client needs Internal - Create and design unique, successful conceptual and production work - Projects include web design (concepts to production), UI Design, infographics, storyboards, animations, print, visual guidelines, campaigns and branding - Translate complexity and bigger pictures into thoughtful and simple solutions - Communicate concepts & desires with team and stakeholders clearly - Participate in check-ins with developers and designers, in conjunction with the project manager - Update of the teams daily work - Responsible for quality of presentation decks on assigned projects - Lead research, collect and distill material into compelling inspiration
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a design related field
- 3+ years experience, preferably in an agency environment
- Design background should include multiple years of experience in digital projects, designing websites, UI design, mock-ups, concepts, storyboards, visual guidelines, print, illustrations, and brand development
- Full understanding responsive web design, with knowledge of grid systems and mobile/Web intricacies
- Expert knowledge of Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other design tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining command of deliverables, timelines and next steps
- Excellence in client interface and customer communication
- Exceptional communication skills - you will often be speaking with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Confident and experienced in speaking to clients in person and on the phone
- Natural ability to articulate and defend design decisions in both written and verbal
- Experience working with both creative and technology teams
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- We are a Mac shop so knowledge of the OS should be second nature
- Experience with a variety of prototyping tools
- Creative, passionate, and easy-going spirit
- Nice to have: Knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal and WordPress

Role Description As a Senior Product Designer, you will join our growing cross-functional UX team and help shape the end-to-end product experience for our users. An influential member of the Granicus Product Design team, you harmonize the ecosystems of data-driven decision-making, human-centered design, and agile software development. Your insights inform future iterations, and you identify new opportunities for innovation and refinement. In this role, you work closely and collaboratively with product managers, product owners, product designers, developers, and QA testers to create, test, and ship market-leading improvements to our robust & complex family of government technology products. The role reports directly to our Senior Manager, Product Design and will form part of a high-performing team which acts as a central UX resource across our business, from research and design to detail-oriented workshopping and big-picture strategy. This team drives high-level discussions about the overall experience of our users and works to advance our understanding of user workflows within the products. In addition to partnering with UX researchers and other product designers to coordinate ongoing research and design system projects, you provide UX design artifacts including journey maps, flowcharts, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
