GIS Specialist – Utility Mapping, Data Quality, Data Acceptance Testing
Celerity Consulting Group
• Support mapping, data validation, and quality assurance activities for electric utility asset systems • Execute Data Acceptance Testing (DAT) workflows including validation of conflated datasets • Ensure integrated asset data meets defined acceptance criteria, quality standards, and program requirements • Perform GIS editing and data remediation for electric utility assets • Update and maintain spatial and attribute data in accordance with defined standards and workflows • Support data cleanup initiatives to improve asset data quality • Execute Data Acceptance Testing (DAT) workflows across conflated GIS and asset datasets • Validate spatial and attribute accuracy of assets and conduct structured sampling • Maintain detailed records of throughput and contribute to performance benchmarks • Validate field-collected and third-party data prior to system integration • Participate in QA/QC reviews to ensure compliance with program standards • Provide feedback on workflow inefficiencies and support continuous improvement
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Geospatial Science, or a related field
- 3–5 years of professional GIS experience
- Experience supporting mapping, data maintenance, or asset data workflows
- Experience working in structured QA/QC or data validation environments preferred
- Proficiency with enterprise GIS platforms (Esri preferred) and spatial data editing
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
- Ability to follow defined processes, workflows, and acceptance criteria
- Experience with QA/QC methodologies and data validation processes
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage high-volume workloads in a production-driven environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills.

• The goal of the project is to help collect images of streets, main points of interest and public areas. • The project is performed on cars with 360 cameras mounted on top that image the area around the vehicle and store those images on computers inside the vehicle. • Later, this data will be used to enhance one the most popular online maps in the world. • The data collectors will be given specific routes around public streets and areas, specifically targeting commercial districts and historical sites. • Due to poor weather conditions some areas will be visited multiple times in order to collect the best quality of imaging. • The project is expected to last at least 8 months and will cover different city/state zones. • The ideal candidate enjoys driving, knows well the area, traffic trends, is highly responsible and reliable. • The schedule expected on the project is Monday-Friday, 8 hours/day 40 hours per week.
