Job Description

Field Application Scientist – Düsseldorf/Frankfurt

SCIENION

• Deliver customer training, technical presentations, and application guidance to ensure successful use of SCIENION technologies after installation • Act as the primary scientific contact for application questions, troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and field problem-solving • Support customers and internal teams by preparing technical documentation, training materials, and maintaining accurate records of support activities • Collaborate closely with service, support, development, and commercial colleagues to convey customer feedback and enhance the customer experience

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, biotechnology, microfluidics, materials science, analytical chemistry, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience with single-cell processing, NGS, mass spectrometry, medical diagnostics, or biosensor development is highly desirable
  • Strong scientific communication and training skills, with the ability to explain complex applications to diverse customer audiences
  • Independent, proactive, solution-oriented mindset with willingness to travel extensively and support customers across multiple countries
  • Experience in a customer-facing scientific role such as applications support, field support, technical service, or customer training
  • Ability to work confidently across biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering topics
  • Fluent English required; additional European languages are a strong advantage
  • Commercial awareness and business understanding, while maintaining focus on after-sales support and customer success
