Title: Associate Underwriter Location: Remote - USA Full Time Mid Level Job Description: Position Summary The Associate Underwriter at Novatae Risk Group is a critical role within our Wholesale Insurance division, responsible for supporting the underwriting team in assessing, evaluating, and managing risks associated with insurance submissions. The Associate Underwriter will manage a substantial book of renewal business while also handling tasks associated with new and renewal accounts. Primary Responsibilities Risk Assessment: - Collaborate with underwriters to assess risks associated with insurance submissions, including reviewing underwriting data, loss history, and other relevant information. - Contribute to the determination of the acceptability of risks and appropriate coverage. Policy Analysis: - Analyze insurance policies to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with underwriting guidelines - Assist in reviewing policy terms, conditions, and coverage options to support decision-making. Client Interaction: - Engage with clients to gather additional information about insurance submissions, address inquiries, and provide support. - Collaborate with underwriters to assess client risks and insurance requirements. Documentation and Record-Keeping: - Maintain organized and accessible records related to underwriting activities, client information, and policy documentation. - Ensure the accurate and efficient processing of underwriting files. Operational Support: - Assist in coordinating operational processes related to underwriting, including policy issuance, endorsements, renewals, and reporting. - Collaborate with internal departments to ensure the efficient execution of underwriting tasks. Position Specific Skills/Qualifications Work Experience: - Prior experience in an assistant underwriter role or relevant experience in the insurance industry is typically preferred for Associate Underwriter positions. - Property & Casualty License required, or agreement to obtain licensure within three months of employment Essential Skills/Competency: - Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Power Point). - Able to work independently and enjoy a high degree of interaction with team members. - A self-starter that demonstrates a high level of initiative and can confidently manage their time and workload. - Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication. - The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and use discretion surrounding sensitive information. Education: - An associate or higher level degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field. Physical Demands & Remote Work Physical Demands Office work. Office work involves working at a desk most of the time, using a stand-up/sit-down adjustable desk. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Typing, grasping, and repetitive motion typically is required every day, and walking and standing are required occasionally.
