Partnership Controller
Wakam
Role Description As a Partnership Controller, your mission is to assess and challenge how our partners manage delegated insurance activities. You will ensure they: - Deliver a high standard of service to our policyholders, particularly in claims handling. - Operate within a robust risk and compliance framework. - Align with Wakam's expectations, procedures, and regulatory obligations. You will be involved in the control cycle from preparation to follow-up. Qualifications - A postgraduate degree with a specialisation in insurance, risk, audit, or internal control. - Ideally 3–5 years of experience in claims management — within an insurer, MGA, or claims management company. - Good knowledge (or appetite for) in audit and/or control activities and/or risk management. - A basic understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements applicable to insurance distribution and claims (AM, IDD, GDPR) is a plus. - Strong command of Word and Excel. - Fluency in English and French; any other language is a plus. Requirements - Prepare and Organise Controls - Lead the preparation phase: contractual review, claims portfolio analysis, definition of control scope and objectives. - Coordinate round-table meetings with internal stakeholders (Claims, Operations, Compliance, Legal, etc.) to identify risks and to collect expectations and feedback on the partner. - Conduct Controls (Remote) - Perform controls with partners. - Assess the operational handling framework: processes, timelines, customer communication and complaint management. - Carry out sample reviews and quality checks on files, focusing on accuracy, consistency, and regulatory and contractual compliance. - Test the end-to-end customer journey. - Analyse, Recommend and Follow Up - Identify issues, weaknesses, and risks (operational, compliance, conduct, financial). - Draft clear findings and recommendations, and define a corrective action plan with the partner. - Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of action plans and ensure timely closure of issues. - Contribute to Methodology & Continuous Improvement - Suggest improvements to control tools, templates, and procedures. - Contribute to cross-functional discussions on risk and compliance topics impacting the perimeter.
