Position Summary: Within the Community Initiatives Department, the Community Building and Engagement (CB&E) program supports organizations across the NeighborWorks network to collaborate with residents to realize their shared visions. The program ensures that network organizations are positioned to achieve impact in their efforts to strengthen social connections, develop resident leaders, and support resident-driven groups. Under the supervision of the Senior Director, CBE, the Manager develops resources and implements programming to support the effectiveness of the NeighborWorks network and the community development field in community building and engagement activities, with a primary focus on resident leadership development. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: - Co-lead overall planning, design, and delivery of the Community Leadership Institute (CLI), a resident leadership program which consists of team building, training, peer-learning, and grants to support team projects. - Manage the Dorothy Richardson Awards for Resident Leadership, including the nomination and selection process, and design of a national recognition program. - Support the design and development of pilots, technical assistance, grants, convenings and peer-learning opportunities to strengthen resident leadership models across the NeighborWorks network. - Support the design, planning and facilitation of network peer learning including a monthly CB&E Collective and the annual CB&E Meeting. - Cultivate and maintain strong cross-divisional relationships to advance CB&E goals and priorities across the NeighborWorks network. - Represent NeighborWorks and the CBE program at internal and external events and on working groups or task forces. - Stay up to date on trends, challenges and opportunities that affect local and national efforts aimed at promoting resident leadership. - Other job-related duties as assigned to advance the goals and objectives of the Community Initiatives Department, NeighborWorks America, and the NeighborWorks network. Nature of Work Contacts: The Manager will interact with a diverse group of NeighborWorks staff, NeighborWorks network members, community residents, consultants, external partners, funders, and other stakeholders from within and outside NeighborWorks America. Fiscal Responsibilities: The Manager will be responsible for managing project budgets and supporting grantmaking processes and procurement activities. Required Minimum Qualifications: (a) Education: A bachelor’s degree is required; a graduate degree in a related field (e.g. leadership, public policy, urban planning, social work, or nonprofit management) is preferred. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. (b) Experience: At least five (5) of professional experience working to develop, implement, promote, and evaluate efforts aimed at strengthening social connections, developing resident leaders, and supporting resident-driven groups. Direct experience with community development nonprofits leading comprehensive, place-based and/or resident-led efforts is preferred. (c) Licenses, Certifications: None specified (d) Competencies, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: - Knowledge in community development or community planning with a focus on community leadership development. Experience engaging directly with residents, stakeholders, and intersectional communities at the local level and/or in support of regional or national networks is preferred. - Demonstrated project management experience, including independent management of project goals, budgets, and timelines as well as coordinating with diverse groups of internal and external stakeholders to implement project plans. - Prior experience with event planning and management, including budget management, logistics planning, and coordination with multiple stakeholders. - Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings of at least 20 people and delivering presentations, both in person and through online platforms (e.g. Zoom, Teams). - Experience developing and deploying technical assistance, peer learning, tools, and training to spread knowledge and adoption of promising practices. - Excellent organizational skills including ability to prioritize, plan, organize and carry out multiple assignments in a fast-paced work environment - Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing reports, publications, or presentations that promote new ideas and share best practices. - Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others and successfully interact with people at all management and support levels, as well as people of diverse socio-economic backgrounds. (e) Technology: Proficient use of Microsoft Office suite. Role Description Dedicated, single-title contract for an unannounced co-op game heading into a stealth, PC-only launch this summer. The contract will run for 3 to 4 months, from reveal through launch and into the first post-launch content window. The role focuses on the "friendslop"/co-op chaos genre (similar to Lethal Company and Content Warning) and depends heavily on creator-discoverability, creator pickup, and community velocity. End-to-end ownership of the community and creator-partner surface includes: - Building a Discord from zero - Running the creator beta-key program This is a high-intensity, outcomes-driven contract for someone who has shipped a creator-led launch before. Key Responsibilities - Community infrastructure (Day 1 to reveal) - Build and brand the official Discord server from zero: server structure, rules, bot integration, role hierarchy, and beta-key claim flow. - Stand up core channels: beta-keys, clips-of-the-week, find-a-crew, dev-updates, and suggestions. - Identify and vet volunteer moderators across NA, EU, and APAC time zones. - Author the launch community playbook: standardized responses for FAQs, bug reports, and crisis scenarios. - Community goal: 20,000 Discord members by launch, with a 50,000 stretch. - Creator beta-key program (firstlook.gg) - Own the free beta-key program end to end through firstlook.gg: vetting and real-time tracking. - Coordinate creator seed tiers (NDA, agency mass-distribution, public, and Steam Playtest). - Run the closed-beta gate to drive Steam wishlists and operate community challenge mechanics. - Use firstlook.gg-to-Discord integration to onboard verified creators and testers. - Marketing and creator integration - Brief creators alongside the influencer agency partner and Co-Founder. - Run the wishlist-conversion engine: clips, dev updates, UGC, and countdowns. - Feed real-time community sentiment and creator signals back to marketing. - Launch and first post-launch window - Coordinate the launch-week livestream block and community surge. - Manage the community through the first content update: UGC contests and spotlights.
