Job Description
Community & Creator Partner Manager
Balor Games
Role Description Dedicated, single-title contract for an unannounced co-op game heading into a stealth, PC-only launch this summer. The contract will run for 3 to 4 months, from reveal through launch and into the first post-launch content window. The role focuses on the "friendslop"/co-op chaos genre (similar to Lethal Company and Content Warning) and depends heavily on creator-discoverability, creator pickup, and community velocity. End-to-end ownership of the community and creator-partner surface includes: - Building a Discord from zero - Running the creator beta-key program This is a high-intensity, outcomes-driven contract for someone who has shipped a creator-led launch before. Key Responsibilities - Community infrastructure (Day 1 to reveal) - Build and brand the official Discord server from zero: server structure, rules, bot integration, role hierarchy, and beta-key claim flow. - Stand up core channels: beta-keys, clips-of-the-week, find-a-crew, dev-updates, and suggestions. - Identify and vet volunteer moderators across NA, EU, and APAC time zones. - Author the launch community playbook: standardized responses for FAQs, bug reports, and crisis scenarios. - Community goal: 20,000 Discord members by launch, with a 50,000 stretch. - Creator beta-key program (firstlook.gg) - Own the free beta-key program end to end through firstlook.gg: vetting and real-time tracking. - Coordinate creator seed tiers (NDA, agency mass-distribution, public, and Steam Playtest). - Run the closed-beta gate to drive Steam wishlists and operate community challenge mechanics. - Use firstlook.gg-to-Discord integration to onboard verified creators and testers. - Marketing and creator integration - Brief creators alongside the influencer agency partner and Co-Founder. - Run the wishlist-conversion engine: clips, dev updates, UGC, and countdowns. - Feed real-time community sentiment and creator signals back to marketing. - Launch and first post-launch window - Coordinate the launch-week livestream block and community surge. - Manage the community through the first content update: UGC contests and spotlights. Qualifications - 4+ years in gaming community management, with at least one zero-to-live launch. - Fluency in the friendslop/clumsy co-op category and following key creators. - Hands-on experience building Discord communities from scratch. - Direct experience with creator beta-key distribution. - Comfort with daily engagement across Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, and Reddit. - Working knowledge of platform-specific community tools. - Available to start immediately and operate at launch intensity. - Available to travel to Canada for 2-4 weeks for launch marketing. Nice To Have - Prior work with influencer marketing agencies on mass-seeding campaigns. - Experience activating international creator markets. - Existing network of mid-tier (50K-500K) variety and co-op creators. Contract Terms - 3 to 4 months initial contract with potential for extension. - Contract, remote, full-time hours through the launch window. We are an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected category.
