Role Description We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing nonprofit-focused CPA firm, recognized by the AICPA as one of the most innovative firms in the country. This role will support and lead client engagements, delivering high-quality financial reporting, grant management, and advisory services in a cloud-based, outsourced environment. The ideal candidate is a strong technical accountant with excellent project management, communication, and client service skills who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced setting. - Lead and manage client accounting engagements - Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports - Oversee AP/AR, budgeting, and financial analysis - Prepare grant invoices and reports; assist with grant lifecycle tracking - Serve as a primary client contact and respond to inquiries - Manage workflows, review deliverables, and support junior staff - Assist with annual audits and liaise with auditors - Leverage cloud-based accounting systems to produce client deliverables Qualifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting - CPA or active CPA candidate preferred - 2–5 years of accounting experience, ideally with nonprofit clients - Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP - Experience with audits, financial statements, and balance sheet reconciliations - Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills - Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel, Microsoft Office; Sage Intacct a plus - Grant management experience preferred Requirements This position operates as part of a US East Coast-based team, with typical working hours aligning with EST to facilitate effective collaboration. Role Description - Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process. - Manage consolidation of financial statements across entities. - Prepare and review US GAAP financial statements. - Ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger activity. - Automate accounting processes using AI, including consolidation, financial statements preparation, close, reconciliations, and reporting workflows. - Identify and implement AI-driven efficiencies to reduce manual work and improve accuracy. - Partner cross-functionally to improve systems, data flow, and reporting. - Support audit processes and maintain audit-ready documentation. - Additional ad hoc projects and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - 5+ years of accounting experience (public accounting and/or industry). - Strong experience in general accounting, consolidation, and financial reporting. - Deep understanding of US GAAP and the ability to draft technical accounting memos that stand up to audit scrutiny. - Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel. - Demonstrated ability to leverage AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and increase productivity while maintaining accuracy and quality. - Basic coding and scripting skills (e.g., Python) with the ability to build simple automations, analyze data, and integrate AI tools into day-to-day operations. - Open-minded and collaborative team player with the willingness to help others. - Excitement in supporting a fast-paced high-growth environment. Role Description The A/R Specialist will be responsible for the collection of invoices billed due from our direct customers and leasing company partners, reconciliation of customer accounts, resolution of customer disputes, and application of payments to customer accounts. This position will interact with customers on a regular basis and collaborate with Sales, Service, Contract Billing, Order Processing, and Accounting functions to resolve billing and collection issues. - Collection of Direct and Lease company invoices by phone and email. - Collaborate with sales, finance, and customer support to resolve billing issues and streamline processes, including large bill and collect accounts. - Customer Service and issue resolution; handle customer inquiries regarding invoices, payments, and account status. - Perform a variety of moderately complex accounting duties in the preparation, processing, and maintenance of financial transactions and associated accounting functions including, as assigned, accounts payable/receivable and general accounting. - Manage customer hold status by reviewing customer accounts for any past due invoices; process credit card transactions. - Process bad debt write-offs. - Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, customers regarding areas of responsibility and initiate appropriate action relative to problem resolution. - Perform other related duties as assigned. • Support month-end close activities for lease accounting, including reconciliations, journal entries, capitalization schedules, and related analysis. • Review new lease agreements and assist with lease classification determinations in accordance with ASC 842. • Maintain and update lease accounting records within ProLease, with a primary focus on real estate leases. • Prepare and maintain lease amortization schedules, roll forwards, reconciliations, and supporting documentation. • Partner closely with Real Estate, Equipment, and other internal stakeholders to proactively identify, review, and account for lease activity. • Support operating lease accounting processes, with exposure to finance leases and embedded leases as needed. • Use Oracle and Excel to research, analyze, reconcile, and support lease accounting activity. • Assist with process improvement initiatives as the team continues to stabilize and optimize post-Oracle conversion processes. • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure lease-related balance sheet accounts are properly supported. • Collaborate with other members of the lease accounting team to manage deadlines, resolve issues, and support accurate financial reporting. • Communicate effectively with internal partners and provide accounting support with a customer-service mindset. • Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned.
