• Manage development strategy, process and project management on behalf of the Global Industry Hub in partnership with the Chief Development Officer, Chief Strategy Officer and program colleagues, to help align with and steward existing funders and to support the acquisition of future prospects. This includes the following key activities: • Managing funder stewardship activities such as preparing proposals, funder reports, field visits and funder events for existing supporters. • Managing prospect acquisition activities such as maintaining prospect lists and supporting other prospect strategies for cultivation and solicitation, prospect research, moves management plans, and development of marketing materials and program portfolio offerings. • Maintaining strong familiarity with Global Industry Hub program content, goals and objectives, and areas for funder alignment in the broader development ecosystem. • Lead coordination with the Program and Finance teams within ClimateWorks to track progress against grant activities/outcomes, review grant awards, and report on grant expenses for core support funders and for select priority programs. • Lead coordination for Development and Finance regarding budget reporting and other related activities. • Prepare contact reports of relevant funder/prospect conversations, meetings and events. • Develop and prepare reports for the funding pipeline of select priority programs.
Job Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- 10+ years’ experience in a fast-paced development/fundraising role. Past work at an environmental organization is a plus. Global experience a plus.
- Explicit experience managing a portfolio of high value individual and institutional funders. Capital campaign experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated success in proposal/grant-writing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Able to work well with funders, intermediaries, executive team, and colleagues at all levels of seniority.
- Strong critical thinking, research, analytic, and organizational skills. Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, as well as an understanding of donor confidentiality issues.
- Detailed-oriented, ability to work on multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally required.
- Proven experience applying sound development process, including use of fundraising databases.. Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
- Willingness to take initiative, help problem-solve and work cross-functionally with colleagues and across stakeholders to support short-term and long-term Development and organizational goals.
