Role Description Under the direction of the Associate Director of Homestudy High School, the CVA (Cottonwood Virtual Academy) High School Teacher serves a hybrid role within CVA High School. - Manages a caseload of high school students as their primary academic partner. - Designs personalized four-year graduation plans. - Monitors progress and supports students and families in navigating the CVA HS academy model. - May teach synchronous live classes, oversee asynchronous flex courses, or both. - Maintains consistent pacing, feedback, and grading across assigned courses. - Supports CVA High School's blended model of live instruction, flex-paced coursework, and community-based learning. Seeking a high school teacher to teach online synchronous high school Math classes, asynchronous course support, grading, and advisory for CVA students. Role Description The Congregational Coach (herein called “the Coach”) will support congregations through a nine-month training program that organizes churches to respond to Christian nationalism, hosted by Showing Up for Racial Justice Education Fund and the Kairos Center for Religions, Rights, and Social Justice. The Coach will support congregational leadership teams in conducting one-on-one campaigns to clarify a vision for the congregation. The Coach will assist these teams in designing and implementing plans for organizing campaigns, survival strategies, and/or spiritual formation. These strategies will be used to build thriving congregations and lessen the impact of Christian nationalism. Qualifications - Experience in coaching or training within a congregational or community setting. - Strong understanding of Christian nationalism and its impact on communities. - Ability to facilitate group discussions and lead training sessions. Requirements - Facilitate and Participate in Program Sessions (approx. 8 hours/month) - Participate in Luke 10 “Learn as We Lead” Zoom calls on the first Tuesday of each month (October–June) (7pm-9pm ET) - Co-facilitate cohort meetings on third Tuesdays using Luke 10 curriculum and agendas (7pm-9pm ET) - Debrief after each session with SURJ and Kairos staff - Record and report key highlights, challenges, and progress - Read the materials assigned to congregations and the Luke 10 curriculum - Provide Coaching to Assigned Congregations (approx. 10-12 hours/month) - Serve as the primary coach for up to 5 congregations, including: - Hold monthly coaching calls (1.5 hours per congregation per month) - Support congregations in applying learnings and moving into action - Be the main point of contact for questions, support, and accountability, and report the progress of congregations back to Luke 10 staff - Collaborate with SURJ and Kairos Team on coordinating and sharpening the program (approx. 4 hours/month) - Attend two monthly coaching team meetings - Share feedback and insight from coaching conversations to inform program evolution - Participate in two in-person gatherings in Baltimore (Sept 11-13, 2026 and Sept 2027) (Preferred) - Participate in the conference and facilitate small group discussions as requested Benefits - Billing Rate: The Coach shall invoice SURJ for services provided no less frequently than quarterly and will be paid at a rate of $26 per hour.
