Job Description
Video Editor
D2B
Role Description As a Video Editor, you will edit Meta ads (Facebook and Instagram) from raw footage delivered by our UGC creators. Responsibilities - You’ll usually have two ad packs landing at a time, one from each creator. Each pack contains: - A text script document with 3 to 5 hooks, the body copy, and the CTA - The raw A-roll - The raw B-roll - Access to our universal B-roll library (product shots, supporting clips) - Sometimes a quick Loom from us with direction. Most of the time, just the pack. - Your process: - Read the script. Understand what the creator was briefed to deliver. - Review the raw A-roll and B-roll. Pencil in which clips you’ll use. - Cut anything that doesn’t work. Awkward delivery, obvious script-reading, off-brand wording, low energy, anything inauthentic. Flag it, note why, move on. - Edit three variations per ad pack. Each variation needs visual and audio variation in the hook. If the three hooks are distinct enough, you can reuse the opening visual. If they’re similar, the visuals need to differ. - Deliver three finished files per pack, named using our convention. Specs Every Video Must Hit - 9:16 aspect ratio - Captions on every video, sized and placed inside the 4:5 safe zone - Ends on a CTA image from our library Tools You’ll Use - CapCut or DaVinci Resolve - Asana and/or Notion for project management - AI tools for statics and B-roll where they genuinely lift the work Who We’re Talking To Dog owners 45 to 70. Heavily female, roughly 65/35. They’ve owned dogs their whole lives. They’re not impressed by gimmicks. They want real people, real dogs, real reasons to believe. You need to feel that audience in your edits. What You Need - 2+ years editing paid social, ideally D2C - Strong CapCut or DaVinci Resolve - Fluent in Western English and the way real people speak and move on camera - A sharp eye for what’s authentic and what isn’t - Confidence to push back when a clip isn’t working, and the reasoning to explain why - Comfortable working from a brief without needing every step mapped out - Up to date on current ad trends and editing techniques - AI Image and video experience (Seedance, Higgsfield etc) - Familiar with Asana or Notion The Honest Bit We care about taste. If you can’t tell the difference between a clip that feels real and one that feels staged, this isn’t the role for you. Same goes for AI B-roll: if it looks fake, it doesn’t ship. We’d rather have a tighter video than a padded one. We need someone that can produce for a brand that demands high trust. Low quality ads damage our brand. We aren’t looking for flashy editing. Refer to our ad library for clues in our style. The Deal Start at 20 hours/week as a paid trial. Prove the work and we’ll scale you to 40 within the month. Real seat on a small, fast-moving team.

Role Description NeoWork is hiring a Senior Video Editor on behalf of a fast-moving consumer brand building a high-output creative engine for paid social. This is not a production-support role. The right person has a sharp editorial instinct for what works in the feed, can interpret a creative direction and execute independently, and is comfortable operating in an environment where the brief is a starting point, not a script. The role sits at the intersection of creative and performance, working closely with the Media Buyer to keep creative output aligned with campaign testing cycles. Volume and speed matter here. So does quality of judgment. What You'll Do - Edit short-form social and performance video content at high volume and fast turnaround - Work primarily in CapCut and AI-assisted editing tools as core parts of the workflow - Take creative briefs and execute independently with minimal back-and-forth - Document editing workflows and SOPs to enable future handoff or process automation - Collaborate with the Media Buyer to align content output with ad testing cadences - Demonstrated short-form editing experience, specifically for paid social and DTC or e-commerce performance content - Proficiency in CapCut; comfort with AI-assisted editing tools is required, not optional - Ability to internalize a creative direction and move without hand-holding - Strong documentation habits, capable of codifying a personal workflow clearly enough to hand off - Startup-caliber adaptability: comfortable with ambiguity, fast-moving environments, and evolving toolsets - Genuine curiosity about AI in creative production; the team is actively building AI tooling and wants someone willing to experiment Qualifications - Prior work in e-commerce or DTC creative environments - Experience in performance-focused content (ads, UGC-style edits, creative testing) Requirements - This role is not a fit for contractors who need a perfectly defined brief to get started, are resistant to non-standard workflows, or treat AI tools as optional. - The team moves fast and values adaptability over process rigidity. Benefits - Health insurance for contractors - Holiday Extra Pay - Work hours generally align with standard business hours in the US, with some potential flexibility depending on the client's needs - This is a 100% home-based position - Mental health days to support well-being - Performance-based incentives in addition to the base salary - Annual review and appraisal process - Ample opportunities for professional growth and advancement within the company
