APAC Science Partnerships Specialist

Role Description OceanX is seeking an APAC Science Partnerships Specialist to support the organization’s work across Science, Education, Partnerships, and Missions throughout the Asia-Pacific region. This role will coordinate and facilitate partnerships, research activities, workshops, logistics, documentation, and regional program implementation in support of OceanX’s broader mission and strategic priorities across APAC. The Specialist will serve as a key coordination point between internal teams and external stakeholders, including government agencies, universities, NGOs, and scientific partners, supporting regional initiatives that advance OceanX’s mission in the region. Note: While the role will work closely with the OceanX team in support of OceanX initiatives, it will be formally employed and managed by a third-party staffing partner. Position Location: This is a remote position open to professionals legally authorized to work in Indonesia. Duties and Responsibilities - Regional Strategy and Engagement - Support engagement with government ministries, regional research agencies, and local NGOs to advance OceanX programs in Southeast Asia. - Facilitate meetings, workshops, and stakeholder dialogues to strengthen partnerships and program alignment. - Assist in identifying and tracking regional priorities, opportunities, and constraints to inform the development of OceanX’s program strategy. - Monitor policy and scientific developments relevant to OceanX’s mission, providing updates and insights to internal teams. - Research and Data Support - Collect, compile, and analyze data relevant to OceanX’s programs, including environmental, policy, and scientific datasets. - Support the preparation of reports, briefs, and presentation materials for internal and external stakeholders. - Contribute to research on ecosystem services, conservation initiatives, and regional environmental priorities. - Program Implementation and Administration - Support expedition and project planning, including logistics, documentation, and coordination with internal teams and external partners. - Track regional program progress, assist with monitoring and reporting, and help maintain accurate records of initiatives, partnerships, and commitments. - Assist in organizing events, workshops, and knowledge-sharing forums with multi-stakeholder participants. - Support internal coordination across Science, Education, Missions, Media, Partnerships, Legal, and Operations teams. - Willingness for travel, primarily within the region and to the vessel. - Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings or late evenings, to support cross-time zone collaboration. - Adaptable to varying workloads, balancing periods of focused execution with lighter operational phases. - Additional duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, policy, economics, or a related field. - At least three (3) years of experience in environmental research, policy, or program coordination. - Demonstrated experience engaging with government agencies, NGOs, and local stakeholders. - Strong organizational and project management skills with keen attention to detail. - Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing information to support program implementation and decision-making. - Experience supporting multi-stakeholder or regional environmental initiatives preferred. - Familiarity with ocean, water, or climate-related programs in Southeast Asia preferred. - Experience contributing to long-term environmental or scientific initiatives preferred. Role Description Under general supervision, reviews chemotherapy regimens in accordance to reimbursement guidelines.
