Job Description

EAP I&S Technical Director

Calderys

• Ensuring alignment of Calderys materials acquisitions with the required product technology technical requirements. This requires collaboration and partnering with procurement, quality, product management, research technology groups, marketing, manufacturing, and commercial sales teams to understand market needs and align with commercial goals. • Providing technology support and expertise for existing materials and Calderys product offerings. • Maintaining detailed materials roadmaps for all raw material categories, updated raw material technical specifications, and a library of refractory materials technology • Leading assigned and shared technology teams in internal and external fundamental research to advance Calderys’s understanding in key material technology knowledge. • Supervising, coaching, and developing direct reports and shared technology teams with safety as a priority. • Understanding competitive offerings and external technology developments relevant to Calderys’s key materials technology.

Job Requirements

  • Requires B.S. degree in Engineering, Ceramics, Metallurgy, Chemical, Materials Science or related field
  • MBA preferred
  • Requires knowledge of scientific method, refractory raw materials, product development, manufacturing processes, and customer applications
  • Requires strong strategic thinking and technical problem-solving skills
  • Requires oral and written communication skills including the ability to speak on technical topics to external parties
  • Requires computer operation skills including, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced excel and PowerPoint expertise
  • Requires ten plus (10+) years of experience with refractory offerings development and subject matter expertise in refractory technologies.
  • Requires five plus (5+) years of experience supervising technical staff.
