Manager, Engineering – Customer & Application

OppFi

• Leadership of the cross-functional team, directly managing software engineers while leading a delivery team that also includes SDETs a Product Owner, and a Security partner • Partnership with Product Management on roadmap and priorities, balancing business outcomes with technical health and maintainability • Delivery of the roadmap from solutioning through to validation, including new product lines and migration from legacy to new platforms • Adoption of Agile processes and SDLC optimizations, driving continuous improvement in coordination with other teams and stakeholders • AI Acceleration, expanding utilization of existing tools and piloting new tools to measurably improve engineer productivity and team throughput • Mentorship and growth of your engineers in an inclusive, psychologically safe team culture where everyone is growing and thriving in their careers • Coordination between other development teams and shared services teams including Platform and Security.

Job Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering and 4+ managing engineers; still comfortable in the code and familiar with CI/CD pipelines
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding tools in production workflows and informed views on AI in regulated financial services
  • Track record leading teams whose success depends on tight cross-team coordination and high quality delivery
  • Strong full-stack background with some combination of Java, Ruby, Javascript, and React and experience with microservice-based architectures on AWS or GCP
  • Fluency with Agile delivery, preferably with scaled models such as SAFe
  • Positive attitude and exemplary communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience mentoring and developing engineers
  • Experience as an Agile Scrum Master / Team Coach on a cross-functional team is preferred
  • A thoughtful people leader: mentorship, equitable calibration, conflict resolution, sponsorship of underrepresented team members
