Strategy & Finance Health Care Consultant

OPEN MINDS

Role Description This position will directly support OPEN MINDS' mission by being an expert strategic advisor and consultant to clients in the areas of: - Strategy development - Performance management - Financial analysis - Operations management analysis - Risk management - Mergers and acquisitions - Other accounting and financial related areas The incumbent will need to have a high level of competency in: - Creating budgets - Service unit costing - Service line pricing and analysis The incumbent will serve as project manager for projects rooted around financial competency and as a subject matter expert for other projects with a smaller financial component. Responsibilities include: - Managing both the internal and client project teams - Managing the project workplan to ensure efficient, high-quality work - Timely and professional communication of project status - Problem-solving with the internal team - Managing project relationships to facilitate successful project engagement Other responsibilities include: - Preparing customer-facing client deliverables for each client project - Serving as primary author of recommendations, incorporating analysis and input from subject matter experts and market research - Participating in business development activities, including proposal development and writing - Preparing articles and other written materials for OPEN MINDS publications - Preparing and delivering presentations at OPEN MINDS and client educational and training events - Tracking own billable hours across multiple projects - Tracking and managing the billable hours of a total project - Other duties as assigned Qualifications - 10+ years of healthcare knowledge and experience working with provider organizations, preferably in the health and human services industry - Ability to understand business challenges, assess client’s current situation, develop strategies and solutions, draft reports, and prepare client presentations - Experience creating budgets, calculating service unit costing, and conducting service line pricing and analyses - Excellent writing and editing skills - Expert Excel skills - Proficient in other Microsoft Office products: Word, PowerPoint - Ability to read and interpret financial statements - Strong communication skills, both verbal and written - Strong attention to detail in accuracy, grammar, formatting, and other elements of client deliverables and presentations - Visual acuity for preparing and analyzing data, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading - Ability to travel overnight, unattended throughout the continental United States

Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years of mortgage underwriting experience with FHA, Conventional, and VA loan products. - DE (Direct Endorsement) Certification required. - VA LAPP/SAR Certification preferred. - Experience with USDA loans preferred. - Proven experience underwriting both manually underwritten and AUS (DU/LP) decisioned government loans. - Proficiency with Desktop Underwriter (DU) and Loan Product Advisor (LP) required. - Experience using Encompass Loan Origination System preferred. - Strong understanding of investor and agency guidelines, credit risk, and compliance standards. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with sales teams, processors, and other operational partners. - Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. - High level of accuracy, integrity, and sound judgment in underwriting decisions. - Must be capable of working independently in a remote and/or office environment.
