Role Description As an SMB Account Executive, you will be responsible for driving new business revenue by managing the full sales cycle — from prospecting and discovery through demo, negotiation, and close. You will work closely with SDRs, marketing, and the pre-sales team to convert qualified opportunities into long-term customers. This role is ideal for a consultative, results-oriented sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about selling transformative solutions to the life sciences industry. Key Responsibilities - Pipeline Management: Own and manage a pipeline of SMB accounts, driving opportunities from initial contact through close using Salesforce. - Full-Cycle Selling: Lead discovery calls, product demonstrations, proposals, and contract negotiations tailored to the needs of pharmaceutical and biotech organizations. - Prospecting: Partner with SDRs and independently prospect into target accounts to build and maintain a healthy pipeline aligned with our ideal customer profile (ICP). - Customer Engagement: Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including research directors, procurement leaders, and R&D teams to understand their challenges and align our platform to their needs. - Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with marketing, pre-sales, and customer success teams to ensure a seamless buyer experience and smooth handoff post-close. - CRM Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity, pipeline stages, and forecasting in Salesforce. - Market Knowledge: Stay current on trends, challenges, and innovations in the pharmaceutical and biotech life sciences industry to effectively position Science Exchange's value proposition. Qualifications - Experience: 2–4 years of full-cycle sales experience, preferably in SaaS; experience in life sciences or selling to pharma/biotech organizations is a strong plus. - Track Record: Demonstrated ability to consistently meet or exceed quota in an SMB or mid-market sales environment. - CRM Skills: Proficiency in Salesforce for pipeline management, forecasting, and activity tracking. - Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver compelling presentations and build rapport with technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Mindset: Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable managing multiple opportunities simultaneously in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment. - Education: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, life sciences, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Skills - Experience selling SaaS solutions into pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences organizations. - Familiarity with the R&D and procurement processes within life sciences companies. - Experience working with SDR teams and marketing to develop and execute account-based strategies. - Comfort navigating complex buying processes and engaging multiple stakeholders within a single account. Compensation The US-based salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 - $85,000. Our salary ranges are determined by the role and seniority level.
