Role Description Brandeis University’s Online Information Technology Management Program is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for RITM 110 Systems Automation, Orchestration, and Integration Practices for the Fall-2 2026 session. This 3-credit asynchronous online course is an 8-week requirement for the Master of Science in Information Technology Management. This course covers automation principles and orchestration methodologies that enhance operational efficiency, consistency, and reliability. Students gain hands-on experience with workflow automation, systems integration, environment provisioning, and deployment lifecycle practices. Core Course Responsibilities Summary - Course Logistics and Facilitation: Focuses on the organized and timely rollout of course content, maintaining consistent communication through weekly announcements, and ensuring all instructional activities occur within university-approved digital platforms. - Instructor Presence and Engagement: Centers on building an active teaching persona by hosting live introductory sessions, facilitating weekly academic discourse in forums, and maintaining regular availability for student consultation. - Individual Feedback and Grading: Emphasizes the professional obligation to provide transparent, rubric-based evaluations and supportive commentary on student work within a standardized weekly timeframe. - Professional Conduct and Standards: Requires adherence to university communication protocols, the promotion of respectful online "netiquette," and ensuring the course meets accessibility and technical visibility standards before and during the term. Qualifications - Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, DevOps, or a closely related field - Minimum 3 years of professional experience in systems automation, DevOps practices, orchestration frameworks, or enterprise systems integration - Demonstrated expertise with automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, API integrations) - Minimum 1 year experience developing asynchronous online courses for adult learners in higher education - At least 1 year of teaching or training experience (preferably online/asynchronous) - Experience with online instruction - Excellent communication and teaching skills in an online learning environment. Requirements - Doctorate (PhD or DBA) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred) - 5+ years of experience in DevOps leadership, platform engineering, automation strategy, or enterprise systems integration (preferred) - Professional experience as a DevOps Architect, Automation Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), Platform Engineer, or Integration Architect (preferred) - Industry certifications such as AWS DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), HashiCorp Terraform Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent (preferred) - Prior online teaching experience at the graduate level (preferred) - Knowledge of global learner personas and culturally responsive pedagogy (preferred) - Familiarity with Moodle LMS and digital authoring tools (e.g., H5P) (preferred) Benefits - Compensation for this position is: $6573.15 - Application review begins June 1, 2026 though we will continue to accept submissions on an ongoing basis. - This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509. Jefferson County Virtual Academy (JCVA) adjunct members will not be allowed to teach more than 3 virtual courses during a semester. The only exception to this rule will be related arts classes including Art, Music, and Physical Education.

Role Description The Jefferson County Virtual Academy (JCVA) adjunct staff member will facilitate student learning utilizing JCVA’s digital platform, district curriculum, and supplemental material in a fully online setting. Adjunct staff members are expected to be excellent communicators to ensure parents and students understand student learning progressions throughout the semester. JCVA teachers are expected to complete these tasks outside of their regularly contracted hours. Qualifications - Valid Tennessee teacher’s license with endorsement to teach 6-12 English in Tennessee. - Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Advanced understanding of and skill with computer technology. - Meets health and physical requirements.
