Job Description

Sr. DevOps Engineer

Ursa Space Systems

Role Description As a Senior DevOps Engineer at Ursa Space Systems, you will architect and operate the robust, secure, and highly scalable infrastructure that powers our satellite intelligence platform. This is a high-impact role where you will bridge software development and cloud operations to build resilient, auto-scaling environments capable of AI-assisted querying on massive geospatial datasets with high levels of concurrent system activity. - A key focus of this role is strengthening the scalability and security of our backend platform. - Evolving our infrastructure to support increasing concurrency, reliability, and operational efficiency at scale. - Designing systems that are secure by default, observable in real time, and resilient under production load. - Serving as a technical leader in defining the “paved roads” for CI/CD and infrastructure best practices. - Spanning cloud infrastructure, automation, observability, DevSecOps, and platform scalability, with a strong emphasis on AWS-based architectures and services. Qualifications - B.S. in Computer Science, or other engineering discipline in which software development is a focus. - Industry experience in a DevOps, SRE or software engineer role. - Strong experience with AWS Cloud stack like S3, ECS, CloudFront, EFS, API Gateway etc. - Experience using AI-assisted tools for rapid development and testing. - Expert knowledge of common software development tooling (Git, Docker, IDEs, linters, formatters, testing frameworks, terraform and python modularization). - Experience with AWS GovCloud as well as associated governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) tooling. - Proficient in Terraform, AWS CDK, and Python. - Experience with NoSQL and/or SQL databases (Mongo, MySQL, Postgres). - Experience with managing code and container repositories as well as CI/CD functions at scale (GitLab, Amazon ECR preferred). - Familiarity with release processes for SaaS products. - Experience with microservice-based architectures and related design principles. - Organized and self-motivated, able to successfully work with a remote team. - A creative, intuitive, and flexible mindset to approach complex problems and build innovative solutions. - A fast, reliable internet connection if you are working remotely is a must. Requirements - Security and reliability is integrated into the CI/CD pipeline (DevSecOps) so that breaks and vulnerabilities are caught before code is even deployed. - Ensuring users and services have exactly the permissions they need and nothing more (e.g., RBAC, advanced IAM policies). - All systems have real-time monitoring and alerting capabilities for failures and suspicious activity. - Designing infrastructure that can withstand an attack or misconfiguration without a total system failure. - Make our infrastructure and systems easy to configure, maintain and observe. - We can debug and resolve production issues quickly with the help of monitors, logging and metrics. Benefits - Competitive Compensation - Discretionary PTO & Flexible Scheduling - Stock Options - 401(k) Match - Medical, Dental and Vision Coverage for you and your dependents - FSA & HSA Plans - Employer-paid Life Insurance - Employer-paid LTD and STD for Parental and Family Care - 11 Paid Holidays - Employee Resource Groups - Educational Assistance Program - Professional Development Opportunities - And more…

Bright Vision Technologies

Bright Vision Technologies is a forward-thinking software development company dedicated to building innovative solutions that help businesses automate and optimize their operations. We leverage cutting-edge technologies to create scalable, secure, and user-friendly applications.

DevOps Engineer64 days ago

Role Description We are seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer to ensure the availability, performance, and operational excellence of large-scale distributed systems in production. As an SRE you will live at the boundary between development and operations, applying strong software engineering principles to infrastructure and operations problems, and continually pushing the platform toward higher reliability with lower operational toil. The ideal candidate will combine deep systems knowledge with strong programming skills, a measurement-driven mindset, and the discipline to design, automate, and operate complex services so that reliability becomes a first-class engineering deliverable rather than a reactive concern. Key Responsibilities - Define, instrument, and continually refine service-level objectives (SLOs), service-level indicators (SLIs), and error budgets for critical services. - Lead incident response and resolution for production issues, ensuring high-quality post-incident reviews. - Design and implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and tracing strategies. - Build and maintain robust on-call processes, runbooks, and escalation paths. - Automate operational toil aggressively by writing production-grade tooling. - Architect and operate large-scale Kubernetes clusters and container-based workloads. - Design CI/CD pipelines that promote safe, frequent, and observable releases. - Lead capacity planning and performance engineering activities. - Partner closely with application development teams to embed reliability practices early in design. - Strengthen the platform’s resiliency through chaos engineering and fault injection. - Drive continuous improvement of security posture in collaboration with security teams. - Contribute to the technical roadmap for reliability tooling and observability platforms. - Mentor engineers across the organization on SRE practices. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - Five or more years of SRE, DevOps, or production engineering experience supporting large-scale distributed systems. - Strong programming skills in at least one of Python, Go, or Java. - Deep, hands-on experience operating Linux at scale. - Production experience operating Kubernetes and container-based workloads. - Strong working knowledge of observability tooling. - Hands-on experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines. - Solid understanding of distributed system design. - Demonstrated experience leading incident response and conducting effective post-incident reviews. - Excellent communication and documentation skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience defining and operationalizing SLOs and error budgets in real production environments. - Exposure to chaos engineering practices and tools. - Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP). - Background in capacity planning, performance engineering, or large-scale load testing. - Familiarity with service mesh technologies.
