Role Description We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Deputy Editor to oversee TheTravel's content and operations, manage editorial staff, and ensure the quality of the content. - Plan and execute editorial content strategies that align with TheTravel’s brand and audience interests, driving traffic growth and engagement. - Oversee the day-to-day operations of the editorial team, including assigning and editing articles, managing deadlines, and ensuring content quality and consistency. - Manage and lead a team of editors and writers, ensuring content aligns with TheTravel’s editorial standards. - Develop and maintain the editorial calendar. - Generate topics for engaging and informative travel-related content, including news, reviews, features, and editorials. - Write and edit articles on a wide range of travel topics. - Conduct content reviews, providing editorial feedback and guidance to maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and originality. - Oversee editorial workflow from ideation to publication, including task assignment, deadline management, and team communication. - Track and report on content performance metrics using analytics tools, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary changes. - Train new editorial staff and freelance writers, ensuring they understand TheTravel's tone, style, and content guidelines. - Stay up-to-date with industry trends and relevant news to inform content creation and maintain the publication's authority and relevance. - Ensure compliance with editorial guidelines and standards across all published content. Qualifications - Proven experience in travel journalism or a related field, with a strong portfolio of published articles demonstrating writing/editing skills and travel knowledge. - Excellent writing and editing abilities, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality. - A deep passion for travel and a thorough understanding of industry trends. - Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced, remote environment. - Proficiency in digital content management systems and familiarity with SEO best practices. - Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the editorial team. - Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or a related field is preferred. • This is a full-time, remote Grant Writer role. • The Grant Writer is an EVE employee who will support all programs under EVE’s umbrella. • The Grant Writer will be responsible for writing and applying for grants that align with EVE’s mission and goals through a pipeline of opportunities provided to them. • Daily tasks include writing and submitting high-quality grant proposals, conducting necessary research to support applications, grant budget development, and grant narrative writing, and effective communication with internal partners. • The role will report directly to the Grants Manager and is responsible for generating $1,500,000 annually and retaining 90% of award revenue year over year. • Lead the development of high-quality, compelling grant applications that clearly articulate the missions, programs, and impact of EVE entities, including Phalen Leadership Academies, Summer Advantage, Skilled US, and Indy Scholars. • Conduct rigorous grant research using internal data and external sources to strengthen the competitiveness of proposals. • Develop and submit letters of inquiry, reports, and related materials with a focus on clarity, impact, and funder alignment. • Synthesize programmatic, financial, and impact data from internal information and partners to craft persuasive narratives, outcomes, and budgets for grant submissions. • Collaborate closely with the Philanthropy team and cross-functional partners to manage funding priorities, gather required information, and ensure alignment between organizational strategy and grant proposals. • Manage grant pipeline to evaluate and prioritize grant opportunities that align with organizational goals and funding strategies. • Track grant activity and outcomes using Salesforce and other systems to support proposal development, reporting, and strategic grant planning. • Support the development of funder relationships through strong written communication and proposal strategy, contributing to long-term funding sustainability.
