Engineering Director – DevOps
Bluesight
• Lead two high-performing teams: a Dev Tooling team focused on CI/CD pipelines, developer experience, and internal platforms, and a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team focused on system health, performance, secops, and incident response. • Improve communication and collaboration, including reuse and ownership, across DevOps, Product, and Platform teams. • Improve our processes for deployment, monitoring, incident management, and release engineering, ensuring speed and reliability. • Drive the adoption of newer GitOps practices, with an emphasis on MLOps and AI-related infrastructure and tooling. • Ensure productive and collaborative communications within, and across, your teams and stakeholders. • Own design and implementation of infrastructure and tooling roadmap capabilities by working with internal, data, and product teams as necessary. • Work in partnership with Product and Engineering to ensure technical health, work through infrastructure challenges, ensure products ship reliably, and manage operational risks. • Participate in technical and architecture reviews across your teams and the wider engineering organization.
Job Requirements
- Decade+ experience building and operating Enterprise SaaS products.
- Experience leading high performing, remote-first product and infrastructure teams.
- Deep experience as a prior practitioner in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure engineering, within an AWS environment.
- Proven track record of building sustainable engineering organizations with effective mentoring and team performance management.
- Experience building cross functional teams and high-trust relationships with product peers.
- Experience managing cloud operating costs at a team or product level.
- Deeply versed with Agile development, as well as shaping and optimizing Engineering Metrics (DORA, DevEx, Reliability).
- History of developing software and infrastructure at enterprise SaaS level.
- Strong communicator who can take risks and drive meaningful change in accordance with our technical strategy.
- Display High EQ with ability to balance relationship-building, advocating, supporting and saying no/not-now.
- Well-versed in AWS cloud-first architectures and scaling components. Experience in AWS services like EKS/ECS, Lambda/Serverless, Kinesis, Stepfunctions, Cost Explorer, Terraform.
