Role Description Provides assistance to the Principal Investigator and Study Team in coordinating research activities that may include conducting a variety of routine experiments with established methodologies, data collection and management, and other research activities as assigned. • Conduct first-principles scientific and technical analysis to formulate hypotheses for remote sensing electro-optical and infrared imagery data applications and novel use cases. • Perform feasibility studies, literature reviews, and trade studies to support development of early-stage mission and data concepts. • Analyze and manipulate pixel-level geospatial and spectral datasets to extract unique insights and validate new mission concepts. • Develop and generate prototype electro-optical and infrared imagery products and sample intelligence products that demonstrate unique capabilities of Muon’s systems. • Support customer discovery and engagement efforts, translating operational pain points and needs into technical requirements and derived data solutions. • Collaborate cross-functionally with product management, business development, and engineering teams to identify and develop new markets, products, and technologies. • Support creation of technical proposals and white papers that articulate the differentiation and mission utility of Muon’s offerings.

• Design and deploy large-scale information retrieval systems with focus on performance and quality • Own end-to-end model development across research, data engineering, evaluation, and production deployment • Design rigorous evaluation frameworks covering metrics and relevance judgement • Translate business objectives into technical requirements • Partner with engineering on software delivery and MLOps processes • Operate iteratively in an agile environment • Communicate research through publications and patentable ideas • Guide and mentor junior scientists

• Define and evolve accuracy metrics across the full shopping experience (retrieval, ranking, recommendations, outcomes) • Design and run experiments to measure improvements and regressions • Build and maintain evaluation datasets, benchmarks, and scoring frameworks • Improve the LLM judges that power our evaluation pipeline: prompting, calibration, and fine-tuning where it matters • Translate ambiguous product questions into clear, measurable hypotheses and analysis • Partner with ML Engineers to validate model changes and guide iteration • Identify failure modes and edge cases, and drive improvements through data • Make agent performance visible, trusted, and actionable across product and engineering
