Job Description
Physics and Mechanical Reasoning Specialist- Intermediate, AI Community
TELUS
Physics & Mechanical Reasoning Specialist- Intermediate (AI Community) Preferred availability 4 to 40 hours per week Compensation USD 10 - 25 per hour About the Role: Do you have a background in Physics or Mechanical Engineering? AI models are getting smarter, but they often struggle with "common sense" physicslike how gravity works, how objects move, or how much force is needed to lift something. At TELUS Digital, we need people who understand the laws of the universe to check the AI's work. You don't need to be a coder; you just need to ensure the AI's science is grounded in reality. What You'll Do: - Problem Checking: Review physics problems solved by the AI and make sure the formulas, units (like Newtons or Joules), and final answers are correct. - Mechanical Logic: Check if the AI's descriptions of physical objects make sense (for example, making sure it doesn't say a feather is heavier than a brick). - Diagram Review: Look at simple diagrams of forces or motion and ensure the AI is labeling the vectors and directions correctly. - Explain the "Why": Help the AI write better explanations for complex topics like energy, light, or motion so that students can learn more easily. Qualification path Mandatory Qualifications: - Education: A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or Astronomy - Native Language: Native-level proficiency in your primary language. We need you to know the specific terms used in physics education in your country. - English Proficiency: Basic (B1) English to follow our project instructions. - Logic & Math Skills: You are comfortable with basic calculus and algebra used in standard physics problems. Assessment: In order to be hired into our community, you'll go through a subject-specific qualification exam that will determine your suitability for the position and complete ID verification. Payment: Currently, pay rates for experts range from $10 - $25 USD per hour Our Payment terms are defined for each project. Why Join the TELUS Digital AI Community: - Community Connection: Work remotely as part of a 1M+ diverse global AI Community of contributors and experts. - Impactful Expertise: Use your native language and academic degree to shape real-world AI systems and products used by millions every day. - Hands-on Innovation: Gain experience in the latest AI research, evaluation, and fine-tuning methodologies. - Global Collaboration: Collaborate with a network of specialists across 20+ domains and 500+ languages and dialects. - Flexible Engagement: Manage your own schedule while making a meaningful impact on the future of technology. Equal Opportunity: All qualified applicants will receive consideration for a contractual relationship without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status. At TELUS Digital AI, we are proud to offer equal opportunities and are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive community. All aspects of selection are based on applicants' qualifications, merits, competence, and performance without regard to any characteristic related to diversity
