Role Description We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineering Draftsperson to join the team remotely. This is a hands-on drafting role focused on producing accurate shop drawings, plans, and quantity takeoffs to support active projects. You'll work closely with the in-house engineering team, acting as a reliable extension of their capability. - Produce shop drawings for bridges, walkways, steel structures, concrete precast, and general metalwork - Draw site plans and traffic management plans as required - Complete quantity takeoffs and check quantities against drawings - Assist the engineering team with estimating support - Liaise with other in-house engineers to ensure drawings meet project specifications - Manage and organize drawing files and documentation Qualifications - Minimum 3-5+ years experience in civil or structural drafting - High proficiency in AutoCAD (required); other CAD software such as Revit or Civil 3D is a plus - Solid understanding of civil engineering drawings and construction documentation - Experience with shop drawings for structural steel, precast concrete, or similar - Ability to read and interpret engineering plans and specifications - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Good English communication skills for remote collaboration - Self-directed and comfortable working independently Requirements - Experience with quantity takeoffs for civil or construction projects (nice to have) - Background in estimating support or cost planning (nice to have) - Exposure to Australian construction standards or similar (nice to have) Work Arrangement & Expectations - This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement. - Successful candidates will be expected to disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work. - Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”).
