Field Service Technician

• Perform installations, qualifications and preventive maintenance on complex electro-mechanical scientific instruments in a laboratory environment. • Maintain effective communication with customers to ensure efficient service. • Prepare samples for instrument testing and complete service protocols that meet cGMP documentation requirements. • Manage and schedule customer appointments with direct supervision. • Submit service reports to clients and accurately enter data into CRM software. • Manage personal inventory for field support and cost management. • Collaborate with Sales, Field Applications and Technical Support Teams to support pre and post sales inquiries.
Job Requirements
- Associate degree in an engineering or science field and 1 year of field service experience in a life science, biotech or medical industry OR completion of military electrical technical training and 1 year of field service experience in a life science, biotech or medical industry OR minimum of 3 years of field service experience in a life science, biotech or medical industry
- Strong computer skills including Windows, Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Salesforce experience is a plus.
- Laboratory experience is preferred.
- Basic laboratory skills, including experience in BSL2 and BSL3 labs
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required
- Ability to lift and carry tools, parts and instruments weighing up to 50 lbs.
