Reporting to the Senior Program Officer for Virtual Services, the Case Manager for Virtual Services provides virtual case management services to refugees, Special Immigrant Visa holders (SIVs) and other Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR) eligible populations. The Case Manager will provide case management and supportive services to program clients. Global Refuge, formerly known as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS), is a nonprofit serving newcomers seeking safety, support, and a share in the American dream. Responsibilities/Duties - Provide culturally and linguistically appropriate client-centered, trauma-informed support. - In collaboration with the client, create a service plan to address needs, remove barriers, and achieve self-sufficiency. - Consistently review service plan and update throughout the program period. - Provide virtual support to meet identified needs including school enrollment, referral to healthcare, social services, benefits enrollment, addressing client vulnerabilities and connection to employment services, as applicable to the client's needs. - Maintain and detail client interaction in accordance with the program requirement timeframe. - Conduct virtual home assessment in accordance with program requirements. - Closely monitor service provision to ensure non-duplication with other federally funded programs. - Provide cross-cultural and enhanced orientation to ensure a smooth process of resettlement. - Work to connect clients with supportive community networks and systems to remove barriers and ensure self-sufficiency and long-term integration. - Maintain up-to-date documentation in the client's case file and online database to ensure services and interactions and financial expenditures are clearly documented throughout the client's service period. - Submit programmatic reports as required. - Coordinate and collaborate with key area stakeholders and service providers to ensure that program participants are linked and offered services in a timely manner. - Ensure that newly arriving refugees are being served in a linguistically and culturally appropriate manner within the community and provide education and advocacy when necessary. - Participate in performance-related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational objectives and goals. - Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a Social Work or behavioral/human services field or two years of experience providing case management and/or social services preferred. - Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or limited English speakers, highly preferred. - Fluency in languages spoken by client populations, is highly preferred - Proficient in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, and database programs. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, troubleshoot, and follow projects through with attention to detail. - Ability to work as a team member and independently, with high level of self-motivation. - Exceptional interpersonal skills, including keen listening ability and relationship building. - Cross-cultural or international experience preferred. - Deep commitment to Global Refuge's core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners, visiting other sites. This role is responsible for reviewing clinical documentation, making medical necessity determinations, managing behavioral health cases across various levels of care, and collaborating with providers and internal teams in a fast-paced administrative environment. The Care Advocate plays an essential role in ensuring quality care delivery, maintaining compliance with established guidelines, and supporting members through effective utilization management processes. Team Environment The selected candidate will join a highly collaborative team of 2–4 members within a larger department consisting of approximately 30 clinicians and 10 support staff. The team culture emphasizes communication, inclusivity, accountability, and professional growth. Team members actively support one another, share knowledge, and work collectively toward delivering high-quality outcomes.
