Technical Sales Director

Role Description - Set and drive the national technical sales strategy and revenue targets. - Lead, develop, and grow a team of technical sales representatives. - Own major client relationships across steel, metals, chemicals, mining supply, and engineering. - Build and manage the sales pipeline — from prospecting through to contract close. - Drive a consultative, solutions-based selling approach across the team. - Identify new verticals and business development opportunities, including sub-Saharan Africa. - Report on sales performance, forecasts, and market trends to the executive team. Qualifications - Degree in Engineering (Metallurgical, Chemical, Mechanical, or related) OR Commerce with strong technical grounding. - 10+ years technical sales experience, with at least 4 years in a senior or team leadership role. - Deep knowledge of steel, metals, industrial chemicals, or related process industries. - Proven track record of hitting revenue targets and growing accounts in a B2B technical environment. - Strong negotiation skills and credibility at plant manager, procurement, and C-suite level. - Valid South African driver's licence. Willingness to travel nationally.
