• You'll be on a high-impact team building a vertical SaaS platform that thousands of service businesses rely on every day. • This is a hands-on senior role with real influence over product direction, architecture, and the engineering culture as the team scales. • The platform is mid-migration from a mature PHP codebase to a modern Node.js and React stack, with a React Native mobile app already in production. • You'll work across both sides of that transition: shipping features in the legacy codebase while helping architect and build the system that replaces it. • Own features end-to-end, from scoping with product to deployment and monitoring • Partner with product and customer-facing teams to translate real user problems into technical solutions • Contribute to the best practices in the modern stack: testing strategy, code review standards, CI/CD, developer experience • Contribute to architecture and technical direction conversations as a peer, not a reviewer

• Own and operate Backblaze’s next-generation billing platform and product telemetry instrumentation for our B2 Object Storage product. • Build and evolve a state-of-the-art billing system, supporting usage-based, subscription, and hybrid billing models. • Design and implement APIs, data pipelines, and event-driven workflows that connect our billing platform to payments, tax, ERP, CRM, and data warehouse systems. • Instrument services, develop metrics, and define meaningful SLIs/SLOs to drive reliability improvements across the platform. • Implement customer-facing product telemetry features for B2 Object Storage • Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to clear, well-reasoned design documents. • Write high-quality, well-tested server-side code in a distributed systems environment.

• Design separate components, modules, classes, devices • Code, debug, document, and maintain portions of software and hardware • Perform different types of testing • Participate in estimation and planning sessions • Contribute to the development of technical project documentation and user documentation • Provide assistance to test engineers and support personnel in solving technical issues of software installation and its operation • Participate in conference calls and face-to-face meetings with the Customer and Customer partners • Comply with the best engineering practices, technical standards, and quality criteria set forth on the project • Report status and progress according to the project and company demands • Spot current deficiencies in the development process, adopted procedures, and engineering practices, environment configurations, etc., and suggest improvements • Escalate technical issues to the Architect, Team Lead, and Project Manager
