Senior Environmental Scientist/ Engineer (Contaminated Land) - ( 260000AX ) Location: Adelaide, Australia Full-time Genuine Flexible Working Arrangements - Including work from home opportunity Job Description About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Contaminated Land Consultant to join Stantec's Environmental Services team. This strategically important role will play a key part in establishing and growing our contaminated land business in South Australia, while initially supporting a strong and active pipeline of work across Victoria and nationally. It is ideally suited to an experienced consultant who combines technical excellence, project leadership and business development capability. You will act as a senior technical and client-facing leader, delivering complex contaminated land projects, supporting national accounts, and developing new client relationships locally. For the right person, this role offers the opportunity to help shape the future direction of Stantec's contaminated land services in South Australia. Successful candidates will be supported to develop both professionally and personally, with clear opportunities for long-term leadership and career progression within a global consultancy. Day to day tasks would involve: - Lead and manage complex contaminated land and remediation projects, including scope development, budgets, programs, governance and reporting. - Drive business development activities in South Australia, including client relationship management, opportunity identification and proposal leadership. - Provide senior technical input and trusted advisory support to clients across infrastructure, industrial, Defence, resources and property sectors. - Support and collaborate with national teams to deliver projects across Victoria and other states as required. - Mentor and guide junior and mid-level consultants, contributing to capability development and future team growth. To be successful for this role you'll need: - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Chemistry or a related discipline. - Extensive experience (ideally 7 years) in contaminated land assessment, remediation and environmental investigations. - Proven project leadership and client management experience within a consulting environment. - Demonstrated business development capability and a strong understanding of the South Australian or Australian environmental market. - Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate credibly at senior client and stakeholder level.
