Structural Engineering Consultant – Part Time

Sargent & Lundy

• Perform structural engineering reviews and analyses • Prepare structural design specifications • Advise power project developers to support new utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, thermal, and other projects • Evaluate new power and infrastructure projects independently to support financing • Develop technical reports for applicable audiences

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering with a structural specialty
  • 20+ years of detailed structural design
  • 10+ years of experience in detailed structural design specific to power generation or distribution
  • Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Structural Engineering specifications, calculations, and whitepapers
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Previous experience within the Nuclear industry or projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical evaluation report writing

Must understand the design build process and have experience working with design teams during the bid process. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred. - 5-10 years of experience in estimating within the heavy civil engineering or construction industry. - Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry practices. - Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills. - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. - Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required, and familiarity with estimating software is a plus (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam).
