Account Executive
Wiley - John Wiley & Sons
• Increase and maintain permissions revenue from pharmaceutical agencies and other accounts via the RightsLink sales channel and direct customer contact • Deliver efficient service for customers needing permission to reuse Wiley material • Manage relationships with key accounts and rights organizations • Identify strategic opportunities for Account Managers to develop licensing partnerships • Process orders, resolve customer inquiries, and deliver tailored licensing solutions based on customer needs • Manage a portfolio of pharmaceutical agency and permissions accounts, identifying opportunities to drive revenue growth through upselling, cross-selling, and expanded licensing solutions • Monitor licensees and transactional permissions activity to identify new business opportunities and support pipeline development • Assist with prospecting new markets and generating licensing opportunities in collaboration with Account Managers and global licensing teams • Conduct basic contract and licensing negotiations within established guidelines, templates, and rate cards • Collaborate with Account Managers and leadership on high-value, customized, or complex licensing agreements • Serve as an escalation point for urgent customer matters • Maintain accurate account, pipeline, contract, and activity data within Salesforce and internal rights management systems • Provide regular updates to management regarding customer activity, sales opportunities, pipeline progress, and market insights • Contribute to achieving monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets while delivering a high level of customer satisfaction.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in a relevant technical, scientific, or business field preferred
- Experience in sales, account management, licensing, or customer relationship management
- Proven experience negotiating and closing licensing or commercial agreements
- Understanding of different sales models and the ability to tailor solutions based on customer requirements
- Ability to analyze sales data and reporting to identify trends, business opportunities, and areas for growth
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to work within established contractual and pricing guidelines
- Demonstrated ability to execute against strategic objectives and achieve strong results in prior roles
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong relationship-building abilities
- Strong technical and computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
