Full TimeRemoteTeam 1,001-5,000

Role Description FormFactor is hiring an IT Director, AI & Digital Automation to establish and lead our AI capabilities across the enterprise. This is a foundational role responsible for setting AI standards, policies, and practical implementation patterns that enable the business to safely and effectively adopt AI at scale. This role starts small by design. You will build the strategy first, then the team, focusing on areas where AI can deliver immediate and durable value, such as Design, Finance, Operations, Sales, and Engineering. The goal is not experimentation for its own sake, but real, production‑ready AI enablement that improves decision‑making, efficiency, and execution across the company. Role Focus - Own AI‑related platforms, tools, and software (and only those, initially). - Define enterprise AI standards, policies, and guardrails to ensure security, compliance, and responsible use. - Bring hands‑on technical expertise to business teams to move AI from idea to impact. - Act as a cross‑functional leader, guiding mixed teams of IT, Engineering, Design, Finance, Operations, and Sales. - Build and lead a small, high‑leverage IT team focused on AI innovation and delivery. - This role does not own general IT operations, infrastructure, endpoints, or identity at the outset—but partners closely with those teams to align AI solutions with existing IT and security standards. Key Responsibilities - Establish the enterprise AI strategy, including standards, reference architectures, and usage policies. - Identify and prioritize high‑value AI use cases in partnership with Design, Finance, Operations, and other business leaders. - Own evaluation, selection, deployment, and lifecycle management of AI tools and platforms. - Enable practical AI adoption through templates, best practices, and repeatable implementation patterns. - Lead cross‑functional delivery teams to implement AI solutions that solve real business problems. - Ensure AI solutions comply with security, data governance, legal, and ethical requirements. - Educate and influence stakeholders on what AI can and should do—and where it should not. - Hire and develop an IT AI team as demand and maturity grow. What Success Looks Like - Business teams can adopt AI solutions quickly and safely without reinventing the wheel. - AI deployments are consistent, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards. - IT is seen as an enabler and advisor, not a gatekeeper. - AI delivers measurable value in productivity, quality, and decision‑making within the first year. Qualifications - Experience leading or building AI, data, or advanced automation capabilities in an enterprise setting. - Strong technical understanding of modern AI tools, platforms, and implementation patterns. - Proven ability to work across business and technical teams and translate needs into solutions. - Comfort operating with ambiguity and building structure from scratch. - Practical mindset: focused on delivery, adoption, and outcomes—not hype. - Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder-management skills. Skills - Cross-Functional Team Building - Cyber Security Standards - Data Privacy Standards - IT Vendor Management - Project Management - Technical Knowledge Education & Experience - Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience in leadership roles, with a Bachelor’s degree; or 10 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years experience; or equivalent experience. Pay Range This role in South Bend, Indiana pays between $146,700.00 and $192,570.00 per year, depending on your experience, skills, and background. Pay may vary in other locations. Benefits - Full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage. - 401(k) with company match. - Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP). - Paid time off. - Quarterly profit-sharing bonuses. - Flexible spending or savings accounts. Equal Employment Opportunity Statement FormFactor is an equal opportunity employer. FormFactor complies with all national, state, and local laws that seek to promote equal opportunities for any applicant or employee without regard to age, race, color, gender, gender identity/expression, national origin, sexual orientation, religion, disability, marital status, pregnancy or related condition, military service, or any other legally protected characteristics.
