Role Description If you’re someone who thrives on keeping complex systems organized, spotting issues before they become problems, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks, this role will feel like home. We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Food Safety & Quality Coordinator with experience in USDA/FSIS-regulated environments. This role is critical in supporting and maintaining food safety and quality processes across our co-manufacturing network. You’ll act as a key connector between internal teams and external partners, helping ensure that documentation is accurate, issues are tracked and resolved, and quality systems remain audit-ready. This is a hands-on, coordination-focused role where success comes from strong organization, sound judgment, and knowing when to escalate. What You’ll Do - Support and maintain food safety and quality programs in alignment with USDA, FSIS, HACCP, and internal standards - Serve as a key point of coordination between internal teams and co-manufacturing partners to support quality and food safety processes - Review production and quality records from co-manufacturers to support compliance verification and identify potential gaps - Track and support investigation and resolution of nonconformances (NCIs), complaints, and CAPAs - Maintain organized, audit-ready documentation across HACCP plans, SOPs, SSOPs, CCP monitoring, and sanitation logs - Apply established USDA/FSIS regulations and guidance to day-to-day quality processes, escalating complex or unclear situations as needed - Support the product label review process for FSIS compliance by identifying issues and coordinating with internal stakeholders and partners for resolution - Assist in preparation for and response to internal audits, third-party audits (e.g., SQF/BRC), and USDA/FSIS inspections - Collaborate with QA, R&D, operations, and external partners to support adherence to QMS requirements - Track and organize quality data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives - Maintain organized, accurate records within document control and quality systems (e.g., Monday.com, Dropbox) - Communicate quality issues, findings, and corrective actions clearly to internal stakeholders and external partners, escalating when appropriate What Success Looks Like (First 6–12 Months) - Successfully take ownership of monitoring and maintaining existing NCI, CAPA, and complaint tracking processes - Maintain consistently organized and audit-ready documentation across supported co-manufacturers - Effectively communicate labeling and compliance-related issues between internal teams and co-manufacturers - Demonstrate strong judgment in determining when to resolve issues independently versus when to escalate - Consistently monitor and maintain quality systems (NCI, CAPA, complaints) with minimal oversight - Support vendor qualification and documentation processes with increasing independence - Build familiarity with internal systems and contribute to future system improvements (e.g., ERP integration) Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, biology, chemistry, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience - 2–5 years of experience in USDA/FSIS-regulated food manufacturing (meat, poultry, or seafood strongly preferred) - Experience supporting HACCP programs, GMPs, SSOPs, CAPA processes, and audit readiness - Familiarity with FSIS labeling requirements and regulatory documentation - Experience working with co-manufacturers, suppliers, or multi-site quality systems preferred - Experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment - Familiarity with GFSI standards (SQF, BRC) and electronic document control systems - Proficiency with digital tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and collaboration platforms - Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills - Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating cross-functionally and seeking guidance when needed - Demonstrated judgment in identifying when to escalate issues versus resolve independently Bonus Points - HACCP certification - PCQI certification - SQF Practitioner certification - Experience supporting internal and external audits Benefits - Medical, dental, and vision coverage with 100% employer-paid dental/vision and a small monthly medical premium for employees; dependents may be added at employee cost - Generous Paid time off to support balance and rest - Paid sick time for when you need it - Six (6) paid holidays each year - Paid parental leave for growing families - 100% company-paid Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, and Life Insurance - 401(k) with up to a 4% company match after one year of service - Monthly product stipend or access to perfectly imperfect damaged product so you can enjoy the nutrient-dense foods you help bring to others Compliance & Employment Practices Paleovalley and Wild Pastures are proud to be equal opportunity employers. • Take full ownership of quality assurance within cross-functional product teams. • Design and maintain comprehensive test strategies covering functional, UI, API, integration, and exploratory testing. • Drive pixel-perfect validation of complex web interfaces across multiple devices, screen sizes, and browsers. • Ensure full test coverage for API flows using tools like Postman, Swagger, and automation hooks if needed. • Collaborate closely with developers, designers, and product managers to define quality expectations and shift testing left. • Write structured, reusable test cases and detailed bug reports that help the team move fast without sacrificing quality. • Review and improve test documentation, coverage, and regression practices across releases. • Contribute to the continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and team workflows.

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks and test cases using Python • Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing and feedback. • Contribute to test planning, test case design, test documentation, and risk assessment. • Drive defect prioritization and perform impact analysis • Participate in software development sprint cycles by supporting the software development team through attending SCRUMs, design reviews, code reviews and providing feedback on software verification and validation deliverables. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans and protocols • Continuously evaluate our testing workflow and drive improvements to increase efficiency and product quality • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in QA and share knowledge with the team
