Role Description Bank Street College, Graduate School of Education, is looking for an Adjunct Instructor for the following course to be taught Summer 1, 2026, online: - Course: EDUC 564R: Language, Literature and Emergent Literacy in the Primary Grades (3 credits) - Dates: May 11, 2026 - June 15, 2026 - Schedule: Monday and Wednesday, 5:15 – 9:00 pm, online (subject to change) This course examines the role of literature in children’s lives. Participants develop criteria for selecting literature for children, considering factors including but not limited to child development, aesthetics, language, and culture, as well as children’s interests and curiosities. Through active engagement with books, artifacts, and ideas, participants gain an understanding of the role of literature in language development in children’s primary and new languages. Participants will examine ways to use literature from a wide range of genres and perspectives for reading aloud, honoring and stimulating children’s storytelling, and for deepening learning across content areas. A Bank Street adjunct is responsible for: - Developing and delivering course content and materials aligned with the program curriculum. - Grading and evaluating student performance in a timely manner, providing constructive feedback. - Maintaining open communication with students, including scheduled office hours or availability for consultation. - Submitting final grades and required course documentation (e.g., attendance records) by institutional deadlines. - Collaborating with program faculty on course coordination and attending relevant program meetings, if necessary. Qualifications - Master’s degree in education or related field required; Doctorate preferred. - 5 or more years of experience teaching reading and writing to children in grades K-3rd. - Experience working in public schools and with children from a range of cultural and linguistic backgrounds preferred. - Experience teaching at the graduate level preferred. - Experience teaching online preferred. • Support the client’s AI Security Governance Program by defining, operationalizing and continuously improving the cybersecurity control framework for AI, GenAI and agentic AI use cases. • The role will work with security, architecture and business teams to ensure AI initiatives are registered, assessed, governed and secured across their lifecycle. • The profile will act as the cybersecurity subject matter expert for AI governance, complementing the project manager and helping translate AI-related risks into practical controls, processes, requirements, evidences and decision criteria. • Define and mature the security governance model for AI systems, including intake, registration, risk classification, control mapping, approvals, exceptions, monitoring and periodic reassessment. • Align the governance model with recognized frameworks such as NIST AI RMF, NIST Generative AI Profile, ISO/IEC 42001, OWASP Top 10 for LLM Applications, and local relevant ruling as EU AI Act obligations where applicable. • Assess AI and GenAI use cases from a cybersecurity perspective, covering various risks including access control, logging, incident response, model exposure, data leakage, and security requirements. • Translate risks into practical security controls, including policies, technical requirements, architecture patterns, guardrails, evidence requirements, control owners and acceptance criteria. • Work with existing tools to ensure the governance model is practical, including mapping tool capabilities and defining required data fields.
