Role Description This is a remote clinical role sitting at the heart of the patient journey at Montu. As a New Patient Nurse, you will be the first clinical point of contact for patients seeking cannabis-based medical treatment. You will conduct structured video consultations to gather medical histories, assess suitability, and determine whether a patient is ready to progress to one of our consultants. This role does not include prescribing or treatment delivery. What it does include is complex clinical decision-making, a fast-moving caseload, and patients who have often tried everything else before reaching us. You will need to be confident working autonomously, comfortable in a fully remote environment, and genuinely invested in getting the right outcome for every patient. If you are looking for a quiet life, this is not the role for you. If you want to do meaningful clinical work from home and be part of a growing team that is changing how patients access medicine, it is. This is a full time role, working 40 hours per week. You will be required to work 1 Saturday per month, for which a day in lieu will be provided. This role is fully remote. Responsibilities - Conducting video-based pre-assessment consultations with prospective patients - Taking detailed medical histories including current medications, relevant family history, and prior treatment - Assessing patient suitability for referral to Montu's clinical consultants - Maintaining accurate, confidential patient records - Guiding patients clearly through the onboarding process and answering clinical questions appropriately - Escalating safeguarding concerns and contraindications in line with Montu policy and national guidance Qualifications - NMC-registered Nurse with a minimum of 5 years post-registration clinical experience - UK-based nursing degree or equivalent qualification - Confident autonomous decision-maker with strong clinical reasoning - Clear and effective communicator, both written and verbal - Comfortable working in a fully remote, tech-enabled environment including video platforms and EMRs - Sound understanding of safeguarding, GDPR, and clinical governance Requirements - Experience in telehealth or remote patient consultations (Desirable) - Background in pain management, cannabis-based medicinal products, or complementary therapies (Desirable) - Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume clinical setting (Desirable)
