Job Description

Content Marketing Manager

Cisco

• Conceptualize, research, and pitch topics that will help tell the Splunk story across security, observability, and platform at different stages of the buyer journey, answering key buyer questions and engaging customers and prospects • Plan, prioritize, and deliver a slate of assets (primarily long-form e-books) each quarter, owning the project from pitching to outlining and writing, to design, publication, and activation • Partner closely with stakeholders in Product Marketing to understand the intersection of our audience’s needs and product benefits for different personas • Work collaboratively with Global Integrated Campaigns to keep projects on track and overcome blockers • Smartly leverage AI tools to create workflow efficiencies and optimize steps in the content production process • Track the performance of assets you create, reporting on trends and insights • Copyedit others' work, ensuring alignment with the Splunk tone and style guide and offering suggestions to strengthen the narrative

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors + 7 years of related experience, or Masters + 4 years of related experience in journalism, content marketing or similar writing-forward roles
  • Experience in B2B SaaS/cloud services
  • Ability to turn complex topics into easy-to-understand stories written for specific personas and objectives
  • Demonstrated strength in storytelling across a variety of topics
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with proven ability to meet deadlines and multitask on a variety of projects
  • Strong detail orientation across different types of projects
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across different teams and internal stakeholders/SMEs
  • Experience leveraging AI tools as a complement to the content creation process
