Title: Statistician/Data Scientist - Data Insights and Decision Support Location: GM Global Technical Center - Cole Engineering Center Tower Job Description: Job Description This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren GM Global Technical Center or Austin Technical Center three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business if more than 3 days]. The Role Business Insights & Decision Support will use data to help the business make better decisions across Quality, Software & Services, and Engineering. This role focuses on interpreting analyses, generating insights, and telling the story behind the numbers, rather than heavy coding or data engineering. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with data, but excels at translating results into clear recommendations for business partners. The main duties of the position are: tutoring students, assisting students in college and scholarship applications, taking students on culturally enriching educational experiences, supporting students in goal setting, and maintaining paperwork on services provided to meet federal reporting requirements. The coordinator will also take an active role in planning and executing an intense 6-week summer academy for participants.
