Job Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a financial advisor capacity
- Active Series 65 or Series 66 license required
- Experience working in an RIA model is preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience supporting advisors in roles involving learning and development or strategic initiatives is a plus

Role Description The Finance Analyst – Revenue and Commissions is responsible for managing the end-to-end sales commission process—including calculation, accrual, and analysis—while also assisting in revenue recognition, reconciliation, and reporting initiatives. This role ensures all sales contracts and commission plans are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP (specifically ASC 606 and ASC 340-40). This role will collaborate closely with Sales Operations, Finance, and IT to improve processes, maintain internal controls, and support accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Schedule: M-F During training, hours are typically 7:30am - 4:30pm PST. After training, there’s more flexibility, as long as the majority of your working hours fall within our core business hours (7:00am – 5:00pm PST) and you’re available for required meetings. Work Setting: Remote Pay: $70,000 – $82,000 Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Commissions Management: - Calculate and book monthly/quarterly commission accruals, ensuring accurate payment processing and alignment with sales plans. - Assist in designing and reviewing commission structures to align with company growth targets. - Revenue Recognition & ASC 606: - Review customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition for multi-element arrangements, including recurring monthly revenue and the management of deferred revenue and contract assets. - Deferred Costs Accounting: - Calculate, record, and amortize deferred commission assets related to contract acquisition costs. - Month-End Close & Reporting: - Lead revenue and commission-related month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. - Assist in developing and maintaining revenue reporting dashboards. - Process Improvement & Controls: - Design and maintain internal controls for revenue and commissions, implementing efficiencies to streamline workflows. - Cross-Functional Partnership: - Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and IT to ensure commission plans and contract terms are accurately reflected in financial systems. • Build and maintain a risk-rated, rolling 18-month roadmap across all Controllers programs — sequenced by control risk, efficiency impact, and strategic priority, not just what's loudest in the current quarter. • Develop a consistent prioritization framework that quantifies the cost of inaction: control exposure, manual effort, audit risk, headcount cost, so that investment decisions are grounded in real data. • Present roadmap and investment cases to Finance leadership with a clear point of view and trade-offs. • Facilitate and document discovery sessions with Controller teams to surface operational debt, process gaps, and control weaknesses. • Diagnose operational debt across Controllers and design scalable workflows with embedded controls and automation. • Own end-to-end program delivery from scoping through go-live, leading requirements gathering, UAT, operational rollout, training, and change management to ensure benefits are fully realized. • Serve as the Finance-side counterpart to Enterprise Systems (IT), consolidating and prioritizing Controller's demand into structured, well-scoped requests that Engineering and IT can act on. • Advocate for and secure Engineering and IT capacity for Finance-critical programs, building the business case, managing the relationship, and holding delivery accountable. • Identify automation and AI use cases across Finance workflows and work with our internal AI Builder to scope and deliver solutions. • Keep FP&A and Treasury counterparts informed on roadmap progress and investment priorities, ensuring alignment across shared systems infrastructure. • Serve as the primary Finance owner for Controllers systems — NetSuite, Workiva, FloQast, Zip, Float, and AuditBoard — ensuring they are well-governed, fit for purpose, and continuously improving. • Act as the point of escalation for complex Finance systems issues, providing direction and resolution.
