Role Description As a Paralegal, you will play an integral role in Hagerty, Inc.’s legal and compliance operations. Under the guidance of senior legal counsel, the Paralegal provides employment, litigation, intellectual property, and administrative support to members of the legal and compliance department. - Manages the filing and maintenance of Hagerty, Inc. and its subsidiaries’ intellectual property portfolio. - Supports senior legal counsel in managing the company’s litigation which includes but is not limited to: - Acting as the liaison between various business units, outside counsel, and the legal team in resolving litigation matters. - Conducting legal research, reviewing pleadings, performing initial case assessments, analyzing and monitoring case status, implementing litigation holds. - Assisting in the fulfillment of discovery requests and preparation of witnesses. - Processing all subpoenas and document requests. - Coordinating with other departments to implement all bankruptcy, garnishment, and lien notices. - Provides employment-related legal support including but not limited to immigration and personnel matters, regulatory updates and research, and execution of employment-related agreements. - Oversees administration of employee hotline & incident management software. - Supports other members of the legal team as needed in areas such as corporate governance, insurance, real estate, transactional and securities matters. - Assists with the drafting and execution of contracts and updating templates. - Performs administrative tasks such as scheduling, document preparation, meeting facilitation, and travel coordination. - Resolves other legal and compliance matters, as necessary. Qualifications - Paralegal certificate and/or college degree. - Prior in-house legal experience, ideally within a publicly traded company. - Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Familiarity with AI tools and online legal research platforms (Westlaw, Lexis, AI solutions). - Notary public. - Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage priorities with urgency, accuracy, and confidentiality. - Able to work independently with minimal direction while collaborating effectively across departments and with all levels of the organization. - Strong analytical skills, business judgment, and problem-solving abilities. - Experience supporting legal functions in areas such as litigation, intellectual property, and employment law. - Skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). - Comfortable interfacing with executives, business teams, and external law firms. - Exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment. - Strong sense of professionalism, integrity, and collegiality. - Effective at identifying key themes, understanding enterprise-level impacts, and thinking strategically. - Self-managed, motivated, and committed to meeting deadlines. Requirements - This position can be worked as a remote position within the United States. - Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. - For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. - Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable. Our US-based paralegals strive to meet and exceed attorney-client needs and expectations. Zirtual offers paralegals in every practice area and state, both transactional and litigation. The paralegal is the main point of contact with their assigned client(s) and will work independently with the law firms. The paralegal will receive support from their assigned Account Supervisor, who will assist the paralegal & law firm relationship with plan modifications, questions, feedback on quality, delegation and collaboration best practices, and more. The engagement is expected to last approximately 6–8 weeks, with an anticipated workload of around 80 hours per month.
