Learning Design Manager

• Stay connected with evidence-based educational practices and instructional design trends, leading continuous improvement across our learning design approaches and processes • Manage the structure and layout of learning pathways to ensure effective course organisation, including ongoing maintenance • Engage with districts, schools, teachers and students to understand the classroom application of our resources, how they best support teaching and learning best practices and the impact they have on student outcomes • Develop, test and refine prototype lessons with users in order to establish instructional approaches, championing an iterative approach to content delivery • Guide the creation of exemplar lessons and assessments and create accompanying documentation and briefs for writers and designers • Provide initial guidance and training for content writers to ensure they are prepared to deliver against the required standards • Guide and partner with our internal content editors to provide ongoing feedback to content writers • Stay connected to users throughout the content lifecycle, gathering feedback in order to inform continuous iterative improvements of our content in market • Leverage data and analytics to inform and optimise learning and assessment design • Partnering with the product lead, own the pedagogical quality and classroom applicability of the resources we provide to users • Coordinate topic mapping, lesson sequencing and creation of learning objectives to ensure logical progression and coverage in each course • Ensure courses are clearly mapped to the curriculum and provide links between curriculum levels and clear difficulty/complexity progressions within each level • Manage the structure and layout of learning pathways to ensure effective course organisation
Job Requirements
- Experience as a qualified Science teacher, ideally at secondary level (Australia/NZ experience)
- Strong understanding of curriculum design and assessment practices within the Australian and/or New Zealand education system
- The ability to lead, motivate and support writers to deliver high-quality content within project timelines
- Comfortable using learner data, feedback and classroom insights to continuously improve learning experiences
- Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to switch between multiple tasks and teams
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain productive, professional relationships with internal teams, external contractors and users
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to work cross-functionally
- Experience coaching individuals to achieve instructional design excellence
- A proactive approach to improving standards, processes, and workflows
