Canva

• Own and shape end-to-end data strategy for China, Japan, South Korea, and India • Serve as senior analytics partner to CJKI country leaders and regional marketing leads • Ensure voice of CJKI users is embedded in Canva’s global product and growth strategy • Uncover structural drivers of growth and friction • Define best-in-class experimentation and measurement standards • Oversee evolution of trusted, scalable data products • Act as a force multiplier within the International Data team

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years in data, growth, or product analytics
  • Trusted advisor to c-level stakeholders
  • Systems thinking connecting product, marketing, monetisation, lifecycle, and market dynamics
  • Fluent in English and speak Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, or Korean
  • Defines long-term measurement philosophies and success frameworks
  • Designs and critiques complex experimentation programs
  • Proactively identifies ambiguous, undefined problems and creates clarity
  • Balances global scalability with local nuance
  • Communicates complex ideas with clarity and conviction
  • Deep expertise in SQL and Python
  • Highly proficient in modern analytics stacks (e.g., Snowflake, Mode, NetSpring, Omni) and experimentation platforms (e.g., Pilot or similar)

Role Description The main objective of the assignment is to provide high-level advice and strategic guidance on efforts around gender data and statistics to support UN Women Afghanistan in building a comprehensive evidence base on gender equality and women's rights in Afghanistan. - Address the limited availability of accessible knowledge and analysis on the gender dynamics of Afghanistan. - Ensure decision-makers, advocates, and partners have robust, credible evidence for gender-responsive policy and programming choices. - Provide technical support on statistical modelling and quantitative analysis. - Advise on the development and refinement of composite indicators and indices suited to the Afghan context. - Maximise the analytical value of available data through innovative approaches. - Support the translation of complex quantitative findings into accessible analysis for policy and programming audiences. Qualifications - Master's degree in a relevant field such as statistics, applied statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field. - Bachelor’s degree in the above disciplines with two years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree. Requirements - At least 10 years of progressively responsible work experience as a statistician with a master's degree in a quantitative field. - Excellent analytical and technical skills in quantitative data analysis, statistical modelling, and statistical methodologies. - Demonstrable experience in leading the production of indices, including the development of new composite measures. - Previous relevant experience working with data and statistics in areas related to gender equality and women's rights. - Previous relevant experience with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs. - Any relevant certifications, such as a Certified Statistician (CS) or a Certified Analytics Professional (CAP). - Fluency in written and spoken English. - Knowledge of the other UN official working language is an asset.
