Role Description This position is responsible for the strategic oversight and operational management of workers' compensation claims within the assigned region. This role is accountable for driving team performance, ensuring service quality, and achieving results aligned with organizational goals. The manager establishes regional objectives, monitors key performance indicators, and ensures consistent, compliant, and timely work comp claims handling across assigned jurisdictions. This position also provides supervisory oversight on complex or high-exposure work comp claims that exceed authority levels, ensuring consistency and alignment with company standards. Collaboration with internal stakeholders and external partners is essential to maintaining regulatory compliance, optimizing claim outcomes, and delivering a high standard of customer service. This role manages workers' compensation claims adjusters across Midwest and Southern/gulf coast jurisdictions; candidates holding an active Florida workers' compensation adjuster license a plus. Qualifications - Minimum of 10 years technical work comp claims experience, 3 of which must have been of supervisory or managerial experience. - Experience in support function oversight. - Must have experience in budget planning and preparation. - Working knowledge of principles and practices of workers compensation administration, and statutes, rules, and regulations regarding workers compensation. - Previous formal presentation experience is required. - Knowledge of insurance operations and methodologies, awareness of industry trends and changes is preferred. - Foundational knowledge of NCCI, WCIRB, and Independent State Bureau with proven application. - Ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel, both internally and externally. - Demonstrated ability to lead teams, achieve results, and drive performance through others. - Adapt quickly to new technologies and systems as needed. - Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. - Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Requirements - Certification: Insurance designation preferred, i.e., ARM, AIC, CPDM or CPCU designations. - Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management/Finance or a related field preferred or equivalent industry experience.
