Role Description As a Claims Consultant supporting the Voya Leave Management (VLM) department, you will serve as a technical expert for complex claims. You will need to be a Subject Matter Expert in STD, Statutory, FMLA, and other paid/unpaid leave policies. You will be considered a Legal Liaison and representative for depositions/arbitrations. You will need to proactively develop action plans to help improve process gaps. The Contributions You’ll Make - Legal Liaison Duties - Represent the company in depositions and arbitrations - Act as a bridge between legal teams and claims operations - Claims Expertise - Manage complex/non-complex disability and leave claims with accuracy and timeliness - Provide mentorship and guidance to claim staff, supporting development and consistency in claim handling - Serve as a SME on leave policies and procedures - Operational Excellence - Analyze claim data to identify trends and provide actionable insights - Maintain service level agreements (SLA) - Support continuous improvement initiatives and special projects across the department - Communication & Relationship Management - Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders via phone and email - Build and maintain strong relationships to support client satisfaction and operational goals Qualifications - 5 years of experience in claim management (STD, FMLA, PPL, PFL) - 2 years of experience with Client Escalation – Resolution strategies - Ability to analyze data and provide actionable insights based on client needs - Strong decision making and critical thinking skills - Excellent customer service and interpersonal abilities - Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Outlook - Strong written and oral communication capabilities - Proven critical thinking and problem solving - High attention to detail and accuracy - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment - Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally Requirements - Compensation Pay Disclosure: $70,530 - $88,160 USD Benefits - Health, dental, vision and life insurance plans - 401(k) Savings plan – with generous company matching contributions (up to 6%) - Voya Retirement Plan – employer paid cash balance retirement plan (4%) - Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250/year - Paid time off – including 20 days paid time off, nine paid company holidays and a flexible Diversity Celebration Day - Paid volunteer time — 40 hours per calendar year
