Role Description BJC HealthCare has an opportunity for an Audit Compliance Specialist. This role is responsible for managing pay audit requests from managed care organizations, Medicare, Medicaid, and VA to ensure accurate payments and identify potential overpayments. Ideal candidates will have some coding knowledge or revenue cycle/billing background to analyze payment details and procedure types, distinguishing between valid and invalid charges. This is a remote position, and candidates must reside in the Greater St. Louis or Kansas City areas. Responsibilities - Performs detailed compliance, process and insurance billing audits in the hospital and outpatient facilities. - Prepares audit work papers to document billing exceptions or patient care documentation issues. - Identifies problems or critical issues in billing and patient care documentation. - Assists with the identification of problems, analysis of problems and development of solutions. - Assists in the preparation of formal written reports which detail audit findings and recommendations. Role Overview: The Part-Time Deputy Chief Compliance Officer (Deputy CCO) will support the Head of Legal and Compliance in maintaining and enhancing our compliance framework, with a focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) programs. This role is ideal for an experienced compliance professional who understands the intersection of law, technology, and financial innovation, and can dedicate 15–20 hours per week to leading compliance operations and strategy execution. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in overseeing the company’s AML/BSA compliance program, including risk assessments, policy development, and continuous process improvement. - Support implementation and tuning of transaction monitoring systems to identify, escalate, and report suspicious activities. - Work closely with product, operations, and risk management teams to ensure compliance controls are integrated effectively across new and existing products. - Collaborate with engineers and the product team to optimize compliance technology tools, such as Alloy and similar identity verification or transaction monitoring platforms. - Review and refine internal procedures for KYC, KYB, sanctions screening, and customer onboarding. - Contribute to the drafting of UARs while maintaining documentation standards and audit readiness. - Support banking as a service relationships, including regular audits by banks, and an annual independent audit. - Stay informed of evolving regulatory requirements under FinCEN, OFAC, CFPB, and state banking regulators, providing actionable guidance to senior leadership. - Serve as a compliance subject matter expert for fintech partnerships and vendor integrations. - Mentor junior compliance analysts, fostering a culture of proactive risk management and operational excellence.
