Data Management Strategy – Governance Advisor
The Cigna Group
• Leverage expertise in business and technical knowledge, as well as influencing skills to support the development, roll-out and management of EDG Policy Controls; including their processes and tooling in order to standardize the approach and document the assessment and evidence of critical EDG controls • Support the development, tooling, roll-out and management of an enterprise-wide Data governance Maturity assessment; develop communications and supportive documentation • Identify gaps and alignment between Controls, EDG Policy(ies) and industry leading Maturity models and their respective results • Collaborate with critical stakeholders to design and develop a methodology to identify, quantify and escalate potential data risk issues in alignment with Enterprise Risk Management practices • Apply critical thinking to assess and optimize the use of data governance tooling innovations to best advance the objectives of the Enterprise Data Strategy and Management organization • Lead and develop effective plans for communication and engagement with prioritized organizations, act as a go-to person and provide consultative services to ensure business and data process owners can capitalize on, or align with data governance best practices • Contribute to create a big-picture approach to ensure effective communication and escalation of key opportunities which support the dual needs of both business and governance leadership to improve data governance and data quality
Job Requirements
- Experience with data governance, controls, metadata, data quality, and/or reporting processes and tools
- Knowledge of Cigna/Evernorth lines of business or products; and/or hands on experience with data management (medical, provider, claims, clinical, pharmacy, eligibility etc.)
- Demonstrated communications and/or change management experience
- Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a healthcare business environment
- Minimum of 3 year’s experience in Data Governance
- Ability to convey complex data concepts via visual techniques to succinctly communicate
- Self-motivated to do what it takes to achieve success and navigate in a highly-matrixed environment
- Ability to manage timelines and meet tight deadlines
- In-depth knowledge and experience with healthcare terminology, concepts and business processes
- Familiarity with healthcare industry standards and regulations
- Experience working in Agile project management (SAFe experience a plus)
- Ability to demonstrate and honor principles of Service, Innovation, Diversity, Empowerment, Integrity, Self-motivation, and Passion

Monitor open reverification status and follow-up appropriately. - Evaluate reverification responses to determine if acceptable or identify a possible loan file discrepancy. - Update all tracking system data fields properly, including detailed evaluation findings and conclusion. - Elevate reverification questions and discrepancies as needed for precision. - Save all reverification artifacts to the defined repository. - Responsible for keeping documented procedures and process steps accurate. - Reconcile third party bills to orders placed.
